I dont miss Herm, and if Mangini left today I wouldnt miss him either. But i know he's not leaving, so i will have to endure his disgustingly dry post-games which follow pussified games. Of course, the games may improve one day, but I'm sure his press conferences wont. I miss parcell's press conferecnes. Say what you want about him, he entertained me, and I usually learned something about football from listening to him.
I certainly don't miss his taking a knee on 3rd down to send an already defeated Doug Brien out to kick a FG in which he had no chance on making.
I miss "Hope". That wonderful feeling before the first game of the season when you believe deep in your heart that this could be our year, that maybe, just maybe, the team and CS will live up to their hype and somehow bring us to the promised land of the SB. That our defense will play like a pack of crazed dogs and leave nothing but destruction in their wake. That our offense will be like a column of bulldozers, just rolling over and crushing our opponents. I miss that feeling. I don't think I've had it since 1968.
Nobody has defended Herm more than I have but I am happy w/ Mangini even though he's struggling this year. I still think Mangini will be a better coach than Herm BUT Herm is continuing to prove he is an underrated HC and that he was underappreciated here.
