I know everything ive read and heard so far have been exactly the opposite, but for anyone not watching the pregame show to MNF.. they announced that the Jets are are willing to at the very least listen to offers for Pennington, although they are not expecting much.

Im not saying they should do it, i honestly dont know how i feel about the idea, im just saying what i heard. but then again, ESPN is kinda known for blowing up stories and trying to create news...

It's not happening. Of course they'll listen to offers. It doesn't mean they'll consider any of them.

ESPN has nothing better to report then to blow up a rumor that wont happen? How sad...

The announcement probably means that all of the logical suitors have declined interest in direct contacts from the Jets so the Jets have resorted to planting this item to try to see if anybody else is interested.

Seriously, what team in their right mind can want him as a starting QB?

What team in the NFL has a blind GM?

At this point it would be addition by subtraction. I would trade him for a freakin semi-used cheerleader for the fly girls.

Arizona just called – they are willing to give us a 6th rounder to throw him out of the league.

    Herm would want him...

With the Jets luck this is what will happen:
Jets trade Chad to KC for a high rounder.
Clemens goes 8-1 giving the Jets a 9-6 record.
On the last week Chad throws for 4 TD's and beats us and we miss the playoffs.

It seems possible that the front office has been trying to convince the league that Chad is still worth a lot ever since the Ravens game.

Nobody's buying. Saying something that seems outlandish makes everyone even more wary of the player.

You were doing so well until this. I have a better chance of getting a dollar from the tooth fairy than Chad does of throwing 4 TD passes.

I don't think he can be traded either but have you looked at some of the people playing QB this week due to injuries? He is definitely better then a lot of them.

Yeah right. In case you weren't looking, Herm has his team tied for first place. He's fine at QB.

Before you make statements like that look around the league at who all 32 starting QBs are. If Brooks Bollinger was out number 2 right now, you'd want to keep Chad in.

He could be very valuable as a backup on a contending team. You never know, a team like San Diego or Jacksonville might be interested just in case Rivers or Garrard get hurt.

I think Pennington is shot and shouldn't be starting in this league anymore on a regular basis, but he could help a team in a spot start here or there.

Bernie Kosar was cut by Bill Belichick on 11-8-93. Kosar was picked up by Dallas, played in 4 games, started 1 of them, and got a Super Bowl ring. Then he finished up in Miami for three seasons and played in 14 games and started 2.

Yeah, if I was a GM of a contending team I'd offer a day 2 draft pick to the Jets for Pennington and see if the Jets bite.

He isn't and anyone can plainly see that Chad is done. He is done, finished, kaput. What more can I say.

There you have it without my sarcastic sense of humor!

actually, that would be very interesting: Chad vs. our D.

the Montana comparisons would return for one game.

Even David Barrett, with his 8 yard cushions and his slow reaction time, would have no problem jumping one of Chad's sideline passes....

Revis & Rhodes would have field days
