It's been a long time since I sampled the weed, but hear me out. However improbable, it's still mathematically possible. Who are we to assume that we can't? In fact, given a good spark, who's to say that the rest of the team couldn't find a way within each and every guy to take himself to the next level? Were I Mangini, this would be my approach on Wednesday while addressing the entire team: "Gentlemen, this morning I've made a very painful and difficult decision. I know how hard each and every one of you have worked this season, yet we just can't seem to find the spark we need to turn this season around. You all know I'm new at this. And I've never told you I have all the answers or that my approach is going to work. In fact, I'm much like you in that I know I can always improve. Yet sometimes, as hard as you work at it, we all know that it's not always how hard you work or the consistent approach you take that makes things happen. Sometimes, you just need that spark. That one change that might take everyone to the next level..., the one thing that gives you hope that things will turn around. Having thought about nothing else but this for several days now, and after careful consultation with Chad last night, we both feel the one spark that might turn this season around is making Kellen Clemens our starter for now. This is no reflection on Chad or his abilities. In fact, Chad and I are both comfortable with the fact that we have in Chad an excellent quarterback. But we also both agree that something needs to be done to make each and every player know how serious we are about this team and about our success. In short, I know... and Chad knows... how talented this team is and how so very badly we need some sort of change or spark. Now, this is not about one man and one position. This is about all of us. All of us need to reach within ourselves and find a way to take it all to the next level. We're working as hard as we can, all of us, and I thank you for doing that. But now I'm asking you to go the extra distance and side with Chad Pennington and I in this decision. This Sunday, Kellen Clemens will be your quarterback and he's going to need 150% from each and every one of you. We have 10 games remaining in the season. It is still mathematically possible for us to finish the season 11-5 and go to the playoffs. In order to do that, we would need to do it one game at a time, one play at a time, one individual at a time. This isn't just one spark, it's one spark that needs to ignite a fire inside each and every one of you here in this locker room, to play as I know you're capable of playing. To that end, this decision does not sit totally on my own shoulders. This decision sits squarely on ALL our shoulders... YOU (he points), YOU.... YOU... and ME. US! This is OUR decision. Now, tomorrow we have another hard, double practice and then we're all going to go out there Sunday and play some football!"
Nice speech...But not only do I think we are not very good now. But I think we are so bad with so many problems to fix ...we wont be very good next year either
Sorry man, Mangini is sticking with Pennington, he already announced it in his press conference on Monday
Or Mangini could say..... " Hey Duuudddde, we can win them all Duddddde. We gonna be good man. We can go on a grooovvy winning streak. " "Hey gimme another hit man".
me too! that was a great speech! lol Too bad chad would probably CRY instead of be on board with something like that...
Hey, I WANT to believe that. I would puke tears of joy if it happened. But my gut (and my balls) are too realistic for such flights of fancy. Mangina is having some sort of nervous breakdown -- and he has these anal blinders on. I just don't get it. What the fugg does he know, that we don't?
Maybe the other 10 teams we play will have the entire team come down with the flu on the day we play them..anything's possible.
You never know folks, would any of us expect it? Absolutely not...but it's still possible However, I don't expect us to go to Boston and win....so let's go with 10-6
Dead!! Section 227's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.
This is kind of my take on it also, although not in such graphic terms. Mangini has not been the same since Brian Billick accused him and the Jets of cheating in the Baltimore game. He actually called Billick up to talk to him and I think he got a strange response from him. Since then he's been very quiet and withdrawn and seems to be having some fundamental logical reasoning failures.
Do you think Billick put a curse on him? Maybe Billicheat did. I wouldn't rule Voodoo out for that guy. Seriously. Maybe something supernatural is going on here.
We are so bad that we will be the ones to give the dolphins their first win! Do you know how painful it is for me to say that! Change the Quarter back save the world!
