while i find that quite funny you dont have to be smart to be a millionaire, you can be a blithering idiot and be a millionaire. its luck my friend, just like in wall street, LUCK.
Derek Jeter is so awesome...he's so dominantly clutch that I am going to explode in amazement. ...he's so clutch that the Indians dominated his team.
You're right! There were no clutch situations in this series, that's why he hasn't shown up yet.
He stunk this series, no doubt about it... But he's the player you love to have, and opposing fans love to hate...Which is pretty well documented. Jeter squandered some major opportunities.
He's stunk in the postseason for the last 3 years, they have a name for that and I thought I'd never use it on Jeter but they call that overrated.
So batting .500 with a .938 SLG was bad last season? And .333 the season before? Yes they lost both series, but he hasn't stunk the last 2 seasons. Now, this series...Clearly a bad series, as a matter of fact, this may be his worst series since 2001 World Series?
I frickin' KNEW this guy would come up small when there was a double play to be had. yeah yeah, how did I know? Good question.
Jeter is hurtin (injured) more than he'll let anyone know. He has been hurt for the majority of the second half, but the Yankees couldn't afford to sit him and he wouldn't of sat out games.
I'll give you that...sort of. He wasn't really in any clutch situations in this series, so didn't have a chance to show that he is the clutch player of old. ...but he still sucked this series. He had a good season statisically, but that doesn't matter at all without a championship.
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/rumors/...overrated-player-in-Sports-Illu?urn=mlb,89331 Seems like most of the players in MLB agree with me... I think I'll make this into it's own thread.
Yet a week earlier Jeter was a close 2nd in a vote by MLB players asking which player you'd want to build around. http://fannation.com/blogs/post/203402
Overrated or not, that's a pretty idiotic statement. Who would want to build around a 35 year old shortstop?
the top four are Yankees and Mets. Suspicious? Yeah. None of those four would be my first choice to build a team around. What's weird is that there's a New York bias among players. Nice.
