Ok so I went to the game yesterday and now I know why the Jets defense Stinks. Our players go @ half speed @ the point of attack. I saw Kerry Rhodes do it on a 2nd quarter pass to Plaxico, and who can forget Dyson getting bitched by Plax. some might say that Plax is physically dominant, but the two guys mentioned are no slouches either. I think the D is too cerebral...looks like they are playing in slow motion and trying not to make mistakes.
This maybe the result of the overpursuing that has gone on earlier in the year. I.E. There have been times the DL has held up well..but LB's and DB's over-run the play.
We certainly don't have that killer instinct on either side of the ball. Maybe its like Madden where if you go for a strip tackle there's greater chance to whiff. our guys seemed to be trying real hard for the strip yesterday.
same core guys under Donnie Henderson and they played with intensity and put fear into offenses. Bob Sutton is a nice old man and he's not motivating anybody. Sutton is the problem to me for uninspired play, as well as being ill-suited for the 3-4. No one is taking a chance like last year, no more "what have we got to lose? go for it" attitude. New DC will do us some good. A young fiery coach who has knowledge on how to use the 3-4 defense is what I'd like to see.
