No they didn't. They had a few but only Chamberlain had the swarm.

We destroyed Westbrook and Byrd once each this year and beat Westbrook a second time as well. If we don't win these two games then there is something fundamentally wrong.

The Yankees never lost to Cleveland during the regular season, then the Yankees blow two to the Tribe in the playoffs; so yes, there is something fundamentally wrong.

Take him PLEASE!!!! he has had 1 great reg season for us, yeah he won the MVP in '05 but he didn't deserve it and he was medicore in both the '04 and '06 reg seasons and in postseason he's had 1 really good series and has done nothing since. he's been an embarrassment, as yankee fans we want to win. We are not satisfied w/ watching a player play wel in meaningless gams in the reg season. We want to win! I'm tried of watching this team choke in the playoffs every year and they are led by ARod. Just once freakin time could our best player step up for us? Is ONE RBI too much to ask for? You can keep making excuses, you can bash us knowledgeable Yankee fans but the facts are this guy has been an embarrassment in october. He has 3 games to change that and I hope he does b/c if he doesn't we won't win but he better he these next 3 games.

instead of calling out the fans that are fed up w/ ARod call out te fans that want Joe out. Joe has won 4 Championships and 6 AL pennants, Alex has done nothing but costs us chances at Championships.

Chad has done nothing but win here, ARod has done nothing but mbarrass himself in postseason and cost us wins. The point is everyone is bashing Chad when Chad is not the problem but the same fans defend ARod when he is a huge part of the problem. Once again, it's not all on ARod but when will he step up? when will he get a hit? when can we expect an RBI? It's ludicrous how you guys keep making excuses for him.

Any your magnificent manager canceled batting practice yesterday. You really need to start seeing the forest through the trees.

If Chad has done nothing but win here then where is all our rings? Really, you should just stop and listen to yourself for once before you push the enter key.

Oh my God! we didn't have BP yesterday???? then we have no shot tonight:drunk:

Let's break this down for you:

    Jets playoff appearances 1960-2001(42 seasons): 9, 21%
Jets playoff appearances 2002-2006(5 seasons): 3, 60%(and the biggest reason we didn't make it the other 2 years was b/c Chad was hurt, he is 3 for in healthy seasons)

    Jets playoff wins 1960-2001: 6, 14%
    Jets playoff wins 2002-2006: 2, 40%

Jets playoff road wins 1960-2001: 2
Jets playoff road wins 2002-2006: 1

    Jets Div titles 1960-2001: 3, 7%
    Jets div titles 2002-2006: 1, 20%

    Jets winning seasons 1960-2001: 11, 26%
    Jets winning seasons 2002-2006: 3, 60%

I could go on and on. chad has done this while playing in a division w/ a dynasty team. The point is Chad has accomplished something team wise here, ARod has held us back in October. I want ARod to succeed more than anyone on here b/c I want the yanks to win but if he doeasn't do something these next few games then I hope the anks re smart enough not to re-sign him and to allow him to opt out and choke for someone else.

By the way, you really should take your own advice about thinking before you push the enter key.

1 - Oh, so you think the team is batting great this series? We need more rest, right?

2 - Ok, so what you really meant to say is Chad has done nothing but win except when he LOST..well duh..I get that.

And while you're at it, tell me where his 3 league MVPs in the last five years are. I must have missed that. If he as good as you say he must surely have them somewhere. Incidentally, a much easier award to win in football then baseball. You only have to be good for 16 games, not 162.

Your argument here is that it's ok for your QB to lose playoff games but not ok for one of nine batters on your baseball team to have a slump. I see.

We have taken BP throug th first 2 games, right? at least he's trying somthing different b/c you knw if we took BP and came out tonight and hit poorly you'd be blaming im for not giving them a day off.

You just don't gt it but that's ok.

Tom Brady has never won a reg season MVP, is he not that good b/c of that?

It's ok for a hitter to have a slump, it's not ok for that slump to carry into 4 straight postseasons and it's certainly not ok to go RBI-less in 14 straight postseason games but for you it's ok to do that as long as ARod gives us great reg eason memories:rofl2:

1 - Nobody would blame him if we took BP and lost. Everybody will blame him because we didn't.

    2 -What's not to get?

3 - Right, Tom Brady won rings and was never the MVP. Won them anyway.

4 - Why isn't it ok to carry it over 4 seasons? He is not as important to the teams chances of winning or losing any game as a QB is. Without him there is no post season to even have a slump in.

Only folks like you will blame him b/c you blame everything on him, taking BP or not will not determine the series.

That Chad has been the winningestQB in Jets history and we win when he plays. It's not his fault he doesn't have a Championship team around him but we are better when he plays.

But you said winning reg season MVPs was the most important.

Hewas almost single handedly responsible for the '05 loss to LAA, he killed us at the plates, on the basepaths, in the field. One hit last year in game 2 and we likely win that series, one hit the other night in his 3 RISP chances and we win. He is vitally important to our success. The sooner you realize that the sooner you'll get it, when your bst player doesn't shoe up in october it's a problem that teams cannot overcome. I am not expecting him to hit 4 HRs and drive in 12 in the series but is an RBI or 2 too much to ask for?

I never said winning the MVP was most important.

I have avoided correcting you three times on this but I will now. He only twice with RISP the other night.

George finally speaks and says the words plenty of Yankee fans want to hear.

George Steinbrenner has kept quiet for most of the season, but he sounded off in a big way Saturday night.

The Yankees owner told The Record of North Jersey that manager Joe Torre will likely be fired if the Yankees don't rally to beat Cleveland.
"His job is on the line. I think we're paying him a lot of money. He's the highest-paid manager in baseball, so I don't think we'd take him back if we don't win this series," said Steinbrenner.

The Yankees currently trail the best-of-5 series 0-2.

It would be the third straight first-round exit for the Yankees, whose flop vs. the Tigers last season nearly led to Torre's firing.

He also had some choice words for umpire Bruce Froemming, who allowed Game 2 to continue despite an infestation of Lake Erie gnats.

"The umpire was full of (expletive)."

As for Alex Rodriguez, Steinbrenner hopes to keep the slugger around a while longer.

"I think we'll re-sign him. I think he's going to have a good run the rest of the (postseason). I think he realizes New York is the place to be, the place to play. A lot of this (postseason) is laying on his shoulders, you know, but I think he's up to it."

    Torre better hope so.

and if Jorge gets a hit with all those RISP in game 1, there is a good chance we win that game too.

No one can ever say that big Stein didn't give Torre plenty of chances. Fans wanted him fired about 5 times just this year. I like him,but if we lose to a team we beat 6 times in the reg season,it's time.

Both teams had to deal with the bugs. It is a fact. Batters and pitchers from both teams were bothered by them. Keep up the ridiculous excuses. You people are giving me more ammo.

Ugh, this just makes this series even worse for me:sad:

I love Torre, and don't want him fired at all
