Arod had plenty of good post season series prior to game 4 of the ALCS loss to Boston. None since. In fact his numbers for every series he played in were .313, .308, .409 and .421. That series he was great in the first three games but ended the series at .258. He has done nothing since but to say he can't hit in the post season would be a mistake. Like I said, I blame Torre for everything that has happened in the last three years and always will. The Yankees obviously do too or they wouldn't be getting ready to drop kick him out.
I can't believe the Yankees played so strong dow the stretch only to dick the dog again in the playoffs. We'll probably win one tomorrow, but no way do we take 3 in arow from a team with as much momentum as they have. Nobody on this team has done shit in 2 games. I'm not gonna make Arod the scapegoat, because he is one of a whole line doing the same-nothing. Torre can kiss his ass goodbye. Not saying it's his fault at all,but 3 early exits in a row-he's gone. What a bunch of bullshit. This team fuckin pisses me off.
lol..he was batting .429 after game 3 with an OPS of 1.286. Where were you? Oh, and Jeter was batting .182. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BOS/BOS200410160.shtml
Come on murrell, don't be a mo mo. He was terring it up in that series like everyone else except jeter before game 4.
Yep blame th man w/ 4 Championships not the guy who is hitting .085 w/ZERO RBI in 14 straight playoff games and the guy who when he was "great" in postseason prior to being a Yankee had 3 hits w/ RISP in his postseason career. Yep its been all Joe:rofl2:
Yep it has...your stats are self serving garbage btw. Sure Arod left 3 on base last night, Jeter left 2 the night before. Why didn't he get a hit when we needed it? The big thing you left out though is that both Posada and Matsui left 7 on each between the two games? Where is your mention of that?
once again, this isn't the fault of one guy. It's the fault of a group of over paid spoiled brats that just don't want it as much as a team like the Indians. I feel bad only for Jeter,Posada and the younger guys.
Oh, and why wasn't Pettite the starter in game one instead of Wang when everybody on the planet thought that was the right move except the clueless wonder himself? Wang had a 5+ era on the road..another great move. If he had we are 1-1 now instead of 0-2. And while we're at it, why wasn't Rivera in there for a third inning? It was a must win game. Oh, I know, the Torre mindset is I can't tire him out, I may need him for game 7 of the WS. And you wonder why he will get fired. The bottom line is this team was not prepared for the post season this year, last year or the year before and that falls squarely on Torre and nobody else.
So you are comparing a game in which we lost by 9 to a game we lost by 1 in extras? Ok, makes sense to me. Posada, matsui both deserve criticism as does Jeter and most of the bats BUT they haven't been brutal every postseason, they haven't gone 14 game w/o an RBI. ARod HAS to deliver for us and if he delivers on just one of his 3 great chances we win the game but as usual he does nothing. it's freakin frustrating, I don't care what he did in the reg season- it's meaningless w/o october success. he has been given opportunity after opportunity and fails every single time. No it's not all his fault but he's front and center b/c of what he has not done in octobers and he needs to produce more than anybody. he has 1 final chance over these next 3 games(hopefully), he's facing medicore pitchin the next 2 games- he had better do something.
I don't think it's possible for any right handed hitter to do a damn thing with Carmona's sinker, the way he was tossing it last night.
So had the rest of them because I'll tell you one thing. He can go 5 for 5 and if the rest of them still suck we are still going to lose, then what?
Oh, so you are saying the rest of them get a free ride then? That's why it's a waste of time to even try and argue with you. If anybody else had that one hit we win too or doesn't that even matter? Of course it doesn't because you are biased against him and every post you make just proves it that much more.
You are giving ARod a free ride when he's been our worst postseason player the last 3 years. At some point he has to do SOMETHING! ANYTHING!!! I am not biased against him(the way you are against Joe), I WANT ARod to succeed b/c if he does he gives us a better chance to win but it's frustrating watching such a great talent buckle under the pressure year after year.
Of course I am giving him a free ride. We aren't here without him. Sure I want him to do more then he has. Is it all his fault as your posts seem to say everytime you make one? Of course not. There is plenty of blame to go around for why this team hasn't done shit in the last three years but you are too blind to see it. You are fixated on one player and blind to the facts. That goes to your thoughts about Torre too and his 4 rings that ended 7 years ago.
There are plenty to blame but no one more than ARod as at least every other player has done something. ARod is our mostalented player and in october plays like our least talented player. joe's rings ended 7 years ago but from '01-'03 he at least had 2 AL pennants, since mr. clutch arrived we haven't seen another AL pennant and haven't seen an ALCS since his 1st year. Maybe, just maybe, if mr. clutch got a few postseason hits and say an RBI or 2 we might have won a few more series'? what do you think?
No chance if all he got was an RBI or two. None at all. Not even if he got an rbi or 2 in every game we played (actually, if he did that we would have one 1). Maybe if you looked at the scores you would see the problem.
Can't really argue with that. It's not like Arod hasn't had a chance to make a post season mark even just the last 2 games.
You realize you're talking about 35 AB's over the the last 2 years plus this postseason so far. 35! Maybe if he got more then 3 ABs a game or 15 in a series he'd get a few hits. But you want to judge a guy on a handful of ABs rather then the 600 he gets in the regular season, so there's no changing your mind.
