It's even more then that. Torre has somehow come to "trust" Ohlendorf and I have no idea why when you look at what he did in the few outings he had. That said, he will now and forever be his first option because Torre always goes with who he "trusts" regardless of how bad they may be at the time.

I said it earlier. Why on earth would he bring in Ohlendorf with the score 7-3 and then bring in Hughes with the score 11-3. It just shows how badly Torre's mind has degenerated.

Actually, there could be one reason that I hadn't thought of and haven't seen written. I had turned the game off by then so I don't know if it was mentioned. It could have been his scheduled bullpen session day and they brought him in in lieu of that like they did with Pettitte and Clemens earlier in the year. Just seems it was late in the day if he hadn't already taken it and pretty unlikely that he would when the game was over.

I hope for you guys your pitching is better today than it was yesterday and your hitting a little more clutch. You guys had Sabathia on the ropes and neither Jorge or Godzilla could land the knockout blow. I think you guys will win today and win 2 games in NY to win the series.

yo junc, this is for you.

    4. Can we cool the A-Rod postseason storyline a bit, please? The Yankees are 3-11 in their past 14 postseason games because of one reason: Their starting pitching has been brutal. Here are the numbers for New York's starters in those 14 games:
W-L ERA IP H R ER BB SO
    2-8 6.37 70 2/3 90 54 50 25 47

    • Average start: 5 innings
    • Starts less than six innings: 8
    • Wins with at least seven innings: 0

Hmm good to hear that the team that losses game 1 has such a high success rate in the ALDS when the Yanks are playing

Gonna miss most of today's game but hopefully Im hope in time for the last couple of innings

Here's something more important to hope for:

    That you actually miss something.

Pettitte is 0-2 with a 7.94 ERA in two playoff games at Jacobs Field.

Rodriguez is 4-for-43 (.093) with no RBIs in his last 13 postseason games.

but hey, a-rod had an OBP of .500 in Game 1.

I'm no so much worried about either of them as much as I about how well Carmona pitches.

And A-rod is 183 for 583 with 54 HRs and 156 RBIs in his last 162 regular season games. Both mean about as much.

If I turn on a TV or radio and here one more person say that Jeter should've bunted, I'm going to punt a kitten.

I will not give away outs with Abreu, A-Rod, Posada coming up and a dude with a .388 OBP at-bat.

And you will lose..(see last night). Probably would have anyway but the game would have been tied instead of down a run. Then maybe Torre doesn't give Posada a green light on 3-0 and he doesn't swing at ball 4 and walks instead. Who knows what happens after that. Giving Posada that green light was to me Torre's panic that Jeter failed to get a run in.

Who's to say that Abreu doubles if Jeter lays down the bunt? You'd be changing the entire progression of space and time. You can't assume that.

Giving away outs with good hitters up is stupid.
