maybe chad has a career in cartoons after football i believe this, any player who knows the sport can see chads shortcomings and the fact the playcalling is moreso just not trying tro move the ball downfield, moreso than trying to play to chads strong suits. like not scoring in the 4th qtr and turning the ball over.
They have to run a conservative offense because everyone knows what is coming. With no fear of a down field passing game there is but so much you can do.
This is likely correct in toto. The thing about having a truly terrible season is that you have to have injuries, you have to have bad breaks in games and you also have to be unable to coach your way out of a paper bag. The Allie Sherman example suggests very strongly that one of the main things that happened to the Giants in the mid 60's to turn them from champs into chumps was that something happened to Allie Sherman. He just was not as good a coach after 1963 as he was before. What happened? Who knows? It could have been personal problems or a physical problem or even just that he stopped working very hard at being a good coach after he had won 3 in a row. If the Jets go 3-13 or even 4-12 this season with Mangini at the helm it will be a very ominous sign for this franchise.
im pretty sure ther players are upset at the offensive play calling but not mangini, its the OC. they have to make drastic changes in throwing deep balls, we should have thrown deep balls against buffalo and against the giants we throw short passes because of their pass rush, i hope thgese guys dont decide to throw deep while we playing the giants because chad will get sacked, it will be damn funny and annoying if they try to throw deep too much against the giants pass rush.
some "insiders" told me that chad pennington actually has a cannon for an arm but is so humble he doesn't want to show it off
A really good coach, like a Parcells or a Belichik or a Walsh, or a Shula, figures out how to replace key guys so that his team does not downright collapse over a period of years. Guys lke Sherman and Herm and Martz took it on the chin because they had no ability to replace a lost star with a player of even adequate value. The most distressing thing about this season so far in terms of the Jets is how bad the defense is after a year already in the system. It says very bad things about the Jets coaching staff that they have not either fixed the problems or gotten replacements for the players who are not working. And I'm really tired of hearing people defend D-Rob on the nose. He's a terrible nose tackle and is probably the single largest reason that the Jets defense has been so bad. A fish rots at the nose first when it's a 3-4 fish.
