If we lose this week, the Jets are going to have no choice but to go to Clemens. Starting the second quarter of the season with 4 losses means it's quite unlikely you're going to make the playoffs, and it doesn't help us long term to go 9-7/8-8 with Chad. -X-

and if the Jets go 2-6 or 3-5 under Chad through the first half of the season, it can easily be said playing him was throwing the season. playing Clemmens in no way means conceding the season if he does indeed give the Jets a better chance to win.

I'm not a Pennington guy by any stretch but I wouldn't wish for a Pennington injury just to see a change at Qb. If Pennington gets "Bledsoe'd" then that's what Fate has decreed and Clemens gets his chance ala Tom Brady/Joe DiMaggio. Would I mourn the passing of the Pennington Era? No. Do I wish for a Pennington injury? No.
i agree, although I have been very vocal about changing QBs I would never want Chad to get hurt. Chad has great character and that has been one of the reasons so many professionals have overlooked his deteriorating arm strength. But again comments wishing for a player to get hurt are just stupid
