Well, no matter what happens 3-4 4-3 5-2 - We NEED a big ass body in the middle...

What do we know about Frank Okam - at 6'5'' and 320lbs sounds like he can fill out...

We think he, like most people his size, is probably better suited for the end position. Also is very similar to Alan Branch.

Look up Jason Shirley - Nose Tackle for Fresno State. He's a potential draft-day steal.

    6'5 330

He'll probably last until the 3rd round or maybe even the second day of the draft. He's a big body, but Shirley, like Okam and Branch, takes plays off.

...but how could you not get tired if you weighed over 320 pounds?

Taking plays off is the lamest knock ever.

Another NT is Frank Morton from Tulane, who should go in the late rounds (5th-7th). Could be a good developmental guy if we can sign a big body, like Ethan Kelley this off-season. Morton is 6-2, 331 and just humongous. Ethan Kelley is a very similar player to Morton, who is on the Browns and is 6-2, 335-340, and the guy I am targeting this year as our NT for 2008. He is 27 and learns behind the greatest NT of all-time in Ted Washington in Cleveland. Hopefully the Browns don't re-sign him.

I agree...but it if you're only going 50% in an NFL game, you're going to get beat over and over again.

Yes I would love Frank Okam in the middle...knowing the Jets...they will take a WR.

I wouldn't mind DeSean Jackson...especially if we have the same coordinators. He could be a BIG THREAT in this dink and dunk offense.

Okam is kind of an underachiever, something that's fairly common for the 'Horns. The guy is definitely talented and can work in the scheme, but it's tough to say. I think I'd rather address another spot. I like Red Bryant from Texas A&M a little later on.

Well, Texas plays Oklahoma on saturday.....

Sounds like Okam will have his hands full - probably overmatched but, still something to watch....

I agree that "taking plays off" is a lame knock especially in college.... You can say that about most players.....

But, Okam sounds really smart and not a trouble maker so, at least we don't have to worry about Mangini crossing him off the list for some minor infraction.

At this point, I think Mangini's CAREER hinges on him finding a DT that can STUFF the run....

They already traded a ton of picks for a CB and a LB - If Okam is the goods he should trade his house and kids......

You are definitely right. What I was intending to imply was that it seems like a cop out scouting report. Like the writer hasn't done enough homework and looks and sees that he is big and slow and just puts that he takes plays off. If you are 6'4" and 350 lbs you typically have a limited range so often you might be out of the play and have it be impossible to impact anything. If you are a big part of what's going on and you aren't trying that is unacceptable, but it seems that every defensive tackle in the last several years has "taken plays off"

Okam is like Alan Branch, lots of potential, but inconsistent.
