This team makes the playoffs every other year. I was in a conversation recently and someone asked me (before the season started) if we would make the playoffs. I said, "recent history indicates that the answer is no". "Why?" they asked me. Well, the answer is pretty simple. We go to the playoffs ever other year, even years in this case. Except for 2001, this holds true back through 1998 -- that's ten seasons with a single exception -- 90% accuracy. We will go to the playoffs in 2008. 1998, great year, afc championship, 1999 vinny gets hurt, no playoffs. 2000, no playoffs -- 2001 playoffs, we just skipped a year -- 2002 -- good year, playoffs. 2003, bad year, no playoffs. 2004, good year, playoffs. 2005, bad year -- really bad -- no playoffs. 2006, amazing year, playoffs. 2007, who knows how bad, but no playoffs. It's just that simple.
with noodle arm at qb, make that 5 of the next 6 losses. an injury devasted bills defense made him look worse than a high-school qb.
1998 - Dominant all year? Well most of the year. Don't forget that one of those 4 losses came against the 3-13 Colts.
Are the 1-3 Bills a worse team than the 1-3 Jets? Probably not on the road. So I wouldn't call it "this game" because in Orchard Park, they may be a better team than us.
