How many times have we had the ball inside 2:00? We had fast TD drives against NE also, even after Chad was playing injured. The TD drive yesterday was quick after we got down 17-7. If Brad Smith gets out of bounds on that drive after the long pass (yes, long pass), it would have also saved us a lot of time. Regarding the Miami drive, the idea is to leave the other team no time to score, so they did it perfectly. Chad made a great play at the end of the half yesterday and completed a long pass, the guy missed the kick. That's his fault? I guess he needs to start kicking his own FGs too.
No... I checked every drive for the entire season with Chad.... His next shortest drive was something like 4 minutes long..... I could look up the numbers for you, but you're obviously having none of it....
You're obviously not grasping that QB is not the issue with this team. You retards can all post this crap until you're blue in the face, Chad is the starter, he's one of the few Jets playing well. There is no controversy, there will be no Clemens, barring injury. All your threads and research and nonsense isn't going to change it.
The running game is weak BECAUSE of Chads weak arm. It's one of the reasons, at least. The defenders all crowd the line because of the lack of a downfield threat. Chads arm is killing this team. Slowly but surely EVERYone is starting to see it.
One of the few Jets playing well? I'm convinced now you're not watching the games.... Like I said, he completed TWENTY-SEVEN check down passes yesterday...... You could take any scrub QB in the NFL, and have him complete 27 check downs..... And most of them, could complete more than 5 passes further than that, and wouldn't have any trouble throwing the ball out of bounds on that final play....
Yes, that's been true, but not yesterday. I agree he's the starter. I agree there is no controversy yet. However, I also acknowledge that people are right about his limitations. Yesterday, his limitations were glaring and he failed in areas that were supposed to be his forte. It was one game, but of course it'll be used as a rallying cry for people who want him gone. I'm ready to give him the season, or until he strings a few bad games together, but a change will be coming. Yesterday was the worst I've seen him play in a while, which makes his numbers all the more shocking for anyone who didn't see the game.
no....he DID lose us this game because he couldn't throw the ball downfield and make big plays. Everybody knows it and thats why he is a terrible quarterback. I cannot remember how many dump off passes I saw yesterday but those were just Chad compromising for a childs arm.
...and the marlins just scored on Glavine again. :-( Good thread- I'm glad it did get its own thread. I went back and read through all the posted articles, and the OP was right-no one was really burying CP like he's been lynched on the message boards. I saw Mangini's open mike today and he was still harping on needing better execution. But as soon as the Jets are legitimately out of contention, i expect to see Clemens out there. With 12 games left, and two out of a playoff spot, we havent reached that point YET. But as long the defense continues to make opposing QBs look like All-Stars, it wont be long.
You're showing your lack of knowledge about the QB position and also how message boards work.....put your fucking point in the title so people know that the thread is about, retard. Check Chad's season stats too. Keyboards should require IQ tests...
 That was good..... The Jets have the number one risky running game in the League though, that should count for something.
Chad had 290 yards, yet set a career high in completions, against a terrible defense. Simply a horrid 9 yards per completion. Seeing as Chad has had some 300+ yards games in the past, that is a sign of regression. Throw in 1 TD and 2 INT's and you have another sign of regression. He used to make good decisions. I rather see 2 interceptions 40 yards down field than 1 less than 10 yards down the field. The defense, though bending quite flexibly, produced 2 turnovers and 2 sacks, only giving up 10 points, almost holding Chad's gift 7 to only 3 or 0. Sutton needs to scrap the 3-4 to ease up on some of the bending. The OL played quite well, giving Chad alot of time. The RB's didn't stand a chance since there were 8-9 defenders in the box on almost every play, another symptom of Chad's fear of going downfield. The receivers played well as usual. Chad had a really bad game, period. I'd rather a QB go 12-14 for 150 yards and 2 TD's.
True that. It's the one good point I've seen york make out of many rants today. The lack of criticism in the papers makes me wonder if the columnists actually watch the game or simply check the stat sheet. Maybe they're much more interested in the numbers for their fantasy teams.
Someone please tell me that mangini is thinking of starting Clemens or at least site a paper that has opened up the discussion. I need some hope here.
Sadly I have seen or heard nothing. The papers didn't even make a mention of a change. Probably because a lot of them didn't watch the game and think Chad played well with his 32-39 effort.
The majority of the passes are 3 yard dumps. I lost my voice screaming at the friggen TV saying , "throw it down the field more the 10 yards". The opposing defense knows what he can do, it's a joke. Put KC in now.
Hell, I'd just rather see two picks coming from excellent defensive plays than two balls that were doomed from the moment he decided to throw them.
I think this season could be salvaged but only if we put Clemens in there. I think at this point we are going to continue to loose and the WR are going to end up in the hospital from all damage caused by Mr. Noodle arm. Mangini better man up and make the change. I swear I'm not watching if Chad starts this week. Enough is enough.
The problem was, his attempts longer than 10 yards looked worse than I've ever seen them. He usually has great accuracy, but floats his passes too much. Yesterday, anything over 10 yards had serious wobble. I'm wondering if the CS and Chad are masking a lingering problem. He may still be having major problems with his plant foot, but it looked more like an arm problem (and not the usual one).
The Giants had 12 sacks this week. If they come at us like that it's unlikely Chad makes it out of the first Quarter.
