Willy has lost control of his team with his hands off approach... he figures to put the responsibilty on the players and to a certain extent he is right... i mean how do you drop all those games and then flirt with a no hitter 2nd to last game of the season.... THE PLAYERS GOTTA WANT IT AND THAT HAS TO TRANSLATE INTO PLAY ON THE FIELD!!!!!

Torre was a .471 manager in NL....get rid of Randolph

Joe Torre could not manage in the NL. He had to think too much. His overall winning percentage in the NL was .471. Willie can't think either. Torre was fortunate enough to manage one of the biggest payrols l in MLB history. Willie could not win with 4th highest payroll this year . The Yankees have so much payroll, they can bring up a kid with Downs Syndrome, Shelly Duncan, and still win the freaking World Series.

Of course it must be the payroll. Never mind we didn't always have the highest payroll when we were winning WS' and never mind we were so far back this year that Met fans were laughing at us all summer- it was the payroll that got us back into the playoffs.

The Mets let 3 solid relievers go and didn't garner any of the starting talent available. Being outbid might be more a reflection of the owner's tight budget than Omar's mistake. I was hoping the arrival of SNY would signal the end of the chinciness, and that seemed to be the case last year. Having the 4th highest payroll just dosen't cut it in this market. Willie has his faults but there's lots of blame to go around. Unfortunately for him it's easier to change the manager when so many other things need to be.

Joe learned something this year that Willie didn't. The clubhouse has been uncontrolled this year worse than ever. His onfield managing is worse than ever. And his blind loyalty buried us this year. At least Joe finally figured that Mussina sucked and gave kids a shot, if it was Willie managing, you wouldn't even sniff Joba, Kennedy and others this year who was instrumental in turning your club around. He hasn't improve in anything since has got here and personally I am sick of it.

The players were terrible to end the season and a lot of them I don't want back, but that doesn't absolve Willie from the piss poor managing that he has done here.

Congratulations on learning how to post. Tomorrow's lesson will be making coherent posts. Later on in the week, we will have seminars on debating techniques and logic.

Any manager should not be kept with a collapse of this magnitude.

Willie made horrible moves in games. He looks dead in the dugout. He has no motivational skills what so ever. I can't think of a positive of this manager if my life depended on it.

Fire him. There is no reason to keep him. I could have done what he did... I know he didn't have much of a bullpen to work with but this team had enough to talent to walk into the playoffs.

I blame the entire september collapse on Willie. Throughout September he was like we got it, we are going to the playoffs, making the playoff this way will make the champagne this much sweeter......bullshit. The entire team gave up when they started counting down to the playoffs, every player was like "so who are we playing in october?" Instead of finishing it off.

Blame it on Willie. All on Willie.

yes You Guys are right. Its willies Fault That the Mets had 22 errors in The last 7 games and Glaven spit The bit in The first inning to the awful marlins.

It's not Willies fault that Glavine blew yesterdays game but the errors... is a different story. This team has been mesmerized by the fact they were in the first the whole year and was heading to the playoffs... unless something happens(which it did). It is Willie's job to keep them focused and motivated. The Mets losing almost every game in September is Willies fault. Mets making errors, the horrible pitching, etc. is the teams fault.

its a collective Meltdown. The Pitching coach could Not Fix The Bullpen. He Could Not Fix The starting Pitching or the Middle relief. The Gm had to bring In THE Cancer and undermind The Manager. You Know The same guy That was playing cards in The Club house. The fish stinks from The head down. No excuse To drop two series To The Nationals and The Marlins with The season on The Line. A good team Does Not need a Manager to get them motivated aginst subpar teams.
