I don't think he was worried about a controversy.

They just wanted Ferguson more. They tried to trade back up to get Cutler too, but couldn't get it done.

im amazed at how many "mangenius" folks are ready to jump ship. was i shocked the jets went to the playoffs last year? no. they had a ton of injuries the year before. am i shocked we are 1-3 and will be among the bottom of the AFC feeders? no...before the season started i had my reservations about the defense, and after the kendall thing our OL wasnt in good shape.

    HOWEVER....

im really shocked to see that all of a sudden there are "this guys got no balls" comments now after last year hearing about how big his balls were. he was in the right to not kick the FG against indy last year but now hes lost his will...the team is rebuilding. did anyone here REALLY think we were going to contend this season? we are adding pieces (albeit slowly) to better our defense and the team in general.
(revis and harris will be players for us)

next year will be a very telling year for this FO and CS. year 3 will see if they have things set on the right track or if they need to revisit there initial plan. the 3-4 will either be set up to win, or scrapped. our starting QB will end up being KC or someone else, but not chad. you can bank on that one

i want to see them throw kellen into the fire so we know what we have...and mybe by week 6 he will....chad will finish this season on the bench. due to injury or ineffectiveness, but he wont be the starter for us come week 16. am i hapy this season with whats going on...of course not. i honestly think we are gearing for next year. i may be dead by then, so who knows if ill see it...(lets all hope im still here and annoying)...but i see the regime taking this year as a muilligan with the 08 season the true test.

or maybe im out of my friggin mind...

Our offensive line would be much worse today if we did go with this plan, and honestly Cutler still doesn't amaze me

    My thoughts exactly...

Cutler hasn't impressed me besides his arm strength... they barely got by the Bills & we saw what he did today

Cutler hasn't impressed me at all. Not to say he will never be good but he reminds me of Jeff George. I think drafting dbrick was the right thing to do regardless of how Clemens turns out.

YEAH NO SHIT! And they also said he would never be a good QB. The dude is winning right now! and frankly he has always had potential. We couldve moved up if we wanted to get him but there was too much Patriot thought oozing out of Mangini's ears. I think trying to emulate those fucks in other ways have really hurt this team but even so I am starting to realize how valuable a QB is. As soon as Brady took center everything changed. LOOK AT CLEVELAND. dismantaling Baltimore who has never lost in Ohio!? putting up over 55 points aint no fluke man. Bengals or no.

Since when is Cutler NFL ready? He ain't carrying that team and wouldn't improve our run or pass blocking. I get the whole Chad isn't cutting it bit, but bad example.

Sure they work. It took Parcells 4 years to assemble the current Dallas roster that is not 4-0. So, counting this year, it took Dallas 5 years to rebuild. It took Cincy about 3 years to build a respectable team.
