http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...26_justin_mccareins_sees_a_drop_in_usage.html What an anomaly McCareins is. The year before we got him from Tennessee I had him on my fantasy team and was excited for his acquisition. Since then he has been an annual letdown. I hope we do trade his unreliable a**. Brad Smith offers us more at #3 anyway, imo. But, with Stuckey done for season, who comes in at #5 if we do trade McCareins? Coles, Cotchery, Smith, Wright and ?
get rid of McCarains, i can?t see him anymore. having only 4 WRs on the roster isn?t a big deal, imo. We can use Leon, T. Jones or Baker as a WR. Line em up in the backfield or at the Line, and send them in motion, as we already do. Gives the Defense more worries and they all have good hands, and run solid routes.
i dont see us trading JCrap till the season is over. Stucky really hurt us and we'll have to keep him. Finally good to see Brad Smith in at #3.
We ran a 5 wide set a couple of times on Sunday and Leon was in as the 5th receiver over Wright anyway. What I found interesting was the line that the team did "extensive homework" on Trent Edwards before the draft. Why in the world would we have been considering Edwards? We drafted Clemens the year before, Chad made it through the year uninjured, and there was no way Edwards was going to make it past the 3rd round.
I think the main reason, that we spread out is, that Chad can call him back into the Backfield via motion, when he sees something to either audible to a run play, or have a aditional blocker. If i recall correctly, there has been some talk this early offseason, that Clemens isn?t pregessing, the way, our CS wished and we checked out several, mid-late round QB prospects.
It was his job to lose and once again when we needed him he let us down. We can't keep waiting for him to live up to his potential. I'm glad Brad is getting his shot, he's a playmaker whom I hope wins the job outright in the weeks to come.
Yeah, that is the bottom line...instead of Smith taking the job because McCareins blows it would be nice if he could step up and WIN the job.
Dante Ridgway--the only Ball State product ever drafted. I'm for anyone other than Mccarens who is solely responsible for us being 1-2 instead of 2-1 or 1-1-1 (I don't think the Ravens would have scored again).
Actually, 24 Ball State players have been drafted including 3-time Pro Bowler Timmy Brown and Jets 1976 2nd round pick Shafer Suggs.
