http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoMmbUmKN0E Excellent rant, and I love how he just eyes the reporter the entire time.
I hope you have a kid...and someone makes fun of him for dropping a pass in a pick up game...or he's...FAT!
He's getting a lot of heat from the media, but I think he's right on. The kid doesn't need to be lambasted for personal things. My only crtique of Gundy was that he went a little too far and should have made his point and moved on. But the message, I think, is a good one.
Here is Jenni Carlson on Good Morning America... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnprxO7o1k0 I found it great that the Media clapped after Gundy's tirade, pretty much showing up Carlson. Also e-mails have came into the paper SUPPORTING Gundy... Hahaha.
He should have limited the tirade to about a minute, just enough to get the point across, and then talk about the game. Because that is a big win for Ok St.
I think his emotions took him a little too far. but I'm sure it's feels good as a player to know that the coach is backing you up.
Being an aspiring broadcaster...this article was way over the line..I've never even seen anything like this written about a PROFESSIONAL athlete. She crossed the line..made it personal.. Gundy may have crossed the line sticking up for his players but..She is wrong here. So much heresay, word has it, downright speculation from her in this. Saying he's a spoonfed momma's boy basically...that's just...ridiculous.
this is the kind of coach players die to play for. I only wish I was as lucky to have a coach who had his players back like that. a former teammate of mine, yesterday we were talking and the first thing out of his mouth was "how about OSU's coach" we both replied "i love that guy" good for him.
Gundy was totally justified to go after her though...that was a horrible column. And yeah...it feels good as a player to know the coach has your back like that. One of the national ESPN shows on the radio was trying to loop Gundy in with the Dennis Green breakdown. This was not the same thing. Gundy was calling someone out. Dennis Green just was proving he could not handle the pressures of coaching anymore.
