Nice to see how much you appreciate Wayne...
Also, typical that you'd break it down to something only your brain can handle...

Could this explain why I receive less salt on my pretzel at Jets games than I do at Giants games?

Has absolutely nothing to do with Wayne Chrebet to be honest, and everything to do with the whining in your post. Wayne got a day, and god forbid he didn't get enough freebies to make you happy. are you kidding me? How about that last contract he got.. not freebie enough?

Are you the type that at Christmas or your birthday gets a gift, and it's not worth enough so you don't take it?

For the record, when they did Klecko's jersey retirement ceremony, they did give him a truck.... But I think Ford sponsored the event or something...

They better do better than that for Martin...

All of us in Sec 314 thought the same thing. The gifts were embarassing. I have to admit though, I have no problem with Woody as an owner. He s not cheap with the players and he did try very hard and spend a lot of money to get us a stadium in NYC.

I believe his money comes from being one of J & J largest stockholders. He owns many, many shares of stock in the company. It is true he takes no day to day role in operating of the company

I agree that in reality Woody is running the team under the radar

The Johnson family all have stake in a trust, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, that still owns about 2% of Johnson and Johnson. The trust is active in the healthcare industry.

OK so it is the trust that owns the stock not Woody directly

Yes, I believe he's on the board of directors of the trust. 2% of JNJ is close to $4B...that's not the only company the trust invests in.

Spare me. Am I the only one who's sick of seeing millionaires handed brand new Cadillacs as reward for winning the Super Bowl? I don't have class envy, I just think it's tacky and excessive...like giving Roger Clemens a bright orange Hummer, for instance.

Was Woody Johnson cheap when Chrebet subtly suggested he'd go play for the Giants if he wasn't given a reward contract? When Chrebet was clearly in decline and had one year and 2.5 million left on his contract? Chrebet was clearly on his way to becoming the third receiver at that point and Woody Johnson opened his wallet and shelled out something like 4 million a year with a 6 million dollar signing bonus when the Jets were in a very precarious cap situation. It was as big a reward contract as I've ever seen when you consider Chrebet's slightly above average career production. Chrebet isn't owed anything.

Woody wasn't cheap with Wayne he was stupid. The guy should have been allowed to walk for the good of the team and in a way for his own health. The last contract he got was terrible for the JETS and for him as it turned out.

Just another minus on the Woody side of the ledger to go with Badway, Herm & the Belly affair just to name a few more negatives

    - 2 Tix to anywhere in the "Continental United states". - Forgetting to mention is was sponsored by Delta. Jets and the FO had nothing to do with this...

    - A Framed picture of a helicopter flyover - So?

    - A watch... Again, forgetting to mention it's a $30,000 Rolex Oyster Perpetual DateJust

    - A framed picture of his jersey - Umm, last I recalled, that's pretty standard when you honor someone.

Exactly what would you have given him?

Oh yeah, 100% sponsored by Delta, which means they have full control of the restrictions...
