    another thing

sad to say, i was scared to tie that game in fears of a horrible EI loss..

wanted to win it right there'

mets should be able to win 2-3 games and the phillies lose 1-2 games..

the next baserunner that attempts a steal of 3rd in an inappropriate spot should be the end of randolph. It hasn't happened once, it hasn't happened twice, it's happened three times with three different players. put a leash on them if you have to but get the garbage under control.

Kinda makes that "glass half full" attitude appropriate, huh?

I believe I said exactly this the last time it happened.

I am so sick of hearing how Willie is angry about how the Mets play. Why the fuck don't you do something about it then, asshole?

Wasn't L-Millz still serving his suspension last night?

    EDIT: nope, it ended Monday.

I hate saying it, but there is NO WAY this team slides like this if Bobby V was at the helm.

I'm sure someone will chime in with a clever "but he never won the division!" comment here ignoring the fact that the team he took took to the WS and won 94 games with in 2000 was about half as talented as the current Mets roster.

I miss Bobby V. If he ever came back to the Mets, that would probably be my favorite hiring of all time.

I think you are correct with that statement, this team has gotten to the point of unwatchable. I guess it's a good thing I don't get too many Met games out in Vegas.

I really hope they mke some serious changes this offseason. This team flat out sucks. Look at some of the garbage in our bullpen:

    Sosa: 9-8 4.55 ERA
    Sele: 3-2 5.37 ERA
    Shoensuck:0-2 5.11 ERA
Mota: 2-2 5.97 ERA (yeah even after killing us in the NLCS we resign him for 2 years at 5 million.)
    Heilman: 7-7 3.22 ERA
Dave Williams (granted he's only pitched in 2 games but he managed to up his ERA 2 nights ago from 21.60 to 22.85)

Bad moves, which ones? Was it trading Bannister for Burgos? Was it trading Owens and Lindstrom to Florida? Was it trading Bell and Ring for garbage? Minaya traded away a quality starter for garbage, traded away 4 young arms in the bullpen for garbage and we wonder why our bullpen sucks. Throw in the fact that guys we signed to replace these young arms are garbage.

The topper on all of this is our big FA was Alou, now not to knock the guy as he has played very well when healty but this team needed to get better and the only FA they sign is Alou. Oh yeah and Damion Easley. Wonderful...

To me, it isn't even the comparisons with Bobby V that matter (although I do think he was/is a better manager) or the comparisons with the talent level on the 2000 team (although in terms of the 8-man lineup this year's group is clearly better everywhere but at catcher and second base) that matter. It's the end of September, and the players are making the same moronic mistakes that they did in April. That is on one and only one person. They have played an entire year without any signs of passion. That is on one and only one person. And that doesn't even take into the account the mind-bogglingly poor handling of the bullpen, the stubborn refusal to employ certain strategies, and so on.

I think its time to back off Show, he's good as long as he's used properly. Since the AS break he's got a WHIP of 1 against lefties and an 8.1 K/9 rate. He also hasn't allowed a HR to a lefty all year.

Gomez in the lineup over Milledge tonight. Willie is a real fucking piece of shit. I guess we won't have to complain about this for too much longer since these assholes in the organization seem intent on screwing with the kid and then dumping him for pennies on the dollar.

What has this clown done to deserve playing time? Forget the fact that he can't hit ML pitching for a minute, when he does get on base he makes stupid baserunning errors.
