I'm just sick of seeing these other stadiums on TV absolutely rocking and ours usually looks like a Knights of Columbus meeting... even the few games we had the crowd in a tizzy it never rose to the level of Denver/Seattle/Washington/Indy/Rams/Dallas/Chicago ................
I don't know. Let's ask them in the Dog Pound in Cleveland, or in the Black Hole in Oakland. Let's ask, I don't know, the 30 or so other teams that somehow have fans that are loud and supportive for 4 full quarters a game every week.
Maybe it's because all those tickets that are available every week aren't being bought by "real fans" So maybe if those were bought by the "real fans" to go along with the "real fans" that have season tix we might get a stadium that rocks.
I don't go to the games because NJ sucks. Woody promised NY and we are stuck with NJ. This is great entertainment though. Keep arguing.
section 312 & 311 where rocking.we where doing the chant all game. i got there for the second possession and left at 0:00.i did move my seat though to the end zone lower level to get into the shade and out of the blazing sun.
Completely agree. Move those on-field mics up to 312 and you'll hear true fans. Jetbo should replace Fireman Ed. Start the petitions. Tailgatin in 17A/B was fantastic this week as well. Go Jets! :eaglessuck:
The crowd was into it from where I was. I guess when we win people have to complain about the crowd. And bash Chad.
I have to say - GOOD POST.... Travel to Jersey, Park 2 miles away..... Uhhh, nahhhhh. That stadium in NEW YORK CITY would have been ROCKIN' like crazy.
Heh, I've never been kicked out of a stadium. I'm not obnoxious. I just cheer at the top of my lungs, and I have a really loud voice.
Dude that's not fandom, that's just insanity! You could save all that money and fly out to 2-3 Jets games a year with that kind of money. It would even be a comparable time commitment: 5hr drive vs. 4hr flight. Back on topic, obviously there are a number of ways to be a fan and degrees of commitment. A thread on a message board is not ever going to have any effect on crowd atmosphere, and IMO if the people who have a problem with it don't/can't go to games themselves and try to change that atmosphere personally, then they should just keep their mouths shut. Height of hypocrisy. I, for one, was there yesterday, in my seat before kickoff, and out the door when the onside kick was caught. I wasn't particularly loud or frenzied this week because I was hungover. I endured a 2.5hr ride back to Long Island postgame, with traffic on 3, the Tunnel, in midtown, the other tunnel, the LIE, the GCP, and even the Meadowbrook! Next game if the game has been decided before 60min I will be leaving as early as possible. I have no plans to surrender my tickets, and while I do feel some responsibility to support the team vocally, if I don't feel like it one week, or ever, then too damn bad. It's my prerogative as a paying customer. I admire others' commitment and passion for the team, and would be thrilled to see more people like that in the stadium, with a willingness to help give the Jets a better homefield advantage. But regardless of how I spend my Sunday I shouldn't have to hear criticism from others, especially those who don't/can't even come to the game themselves. PS on the same token, I would tell (and have told) someone who is yelling at me to sitdown/keep quiet to stuff it as well (as long as my behavior is within reason; yelling right in someone's ear, or spilling beer on someone, etc, infringes upon that person's ability to enjoy the game). I'll be a fan the way I want to be a fan.
We can ask them, but we can't ask the Browns' or Raiders' version of Alio because he wasn't at the game at all.
Well I dunno I was there until the end of the game,,which is what I usually do every game for the past 18 years. As far as the Jets chant the stadium has decided to turn it into a freakin contest,,although half the time during a timeout they turn the scoreboard to the Flight Crew,,which is nice to watch but even with coaching,,they cant even turn in a decient job of leading the cheer. The people they had on the scoreboard haven't an inkling about setting up the crowd to do the chant. The Jets and the stadium said they were going to "scan the seats" for people to lead the cheer but they just turned it into something from a highlight reel. No matter I will still be there every home game until the end,,,maybe the cameras will find their way to section 331......
Oh that's hilarious! Did you think of it all by yourself? Oh. No. You didn't. It's already been said like 5 times. Whatever. You people are flat out embarassing, and every time you post that you should be able to cheer or not cheer any way you feel like it, you only look that much worse. ---------------------------- And I just want to compliment those in this thread that have spoken up as game-goers who actually do cheer, and see something wrong with the general portion of the crowd. As I said in the first post, this rant was not directed at you. Thanks for actually being good fans.
After I came home from the Jets game yesterday. I watched every 4PM game via the Red Zone Channel in HD. There was NOT 1 game where I even thought the crowd had any effect on whatsoever. Broncos fans and Raiders Fans included. Are Raiders Fans great because they dress up like lunatics? Are Broncos Fans great because they yell "in-com-plete" after a bad pass? (By the Way, that Stadium was pretty empty before the Jags actually had it won) 80% of NFL games if you watch every one (I DO), have the stands not full before KickOff. Nearly Empty before and after haltime and People Leaving early!
That's interesting. If you had watched "every" 4pm game, as you claim, then you'd have seen the crowd cause a false start on the Giants OLine near the end zone in the 4th quarter. You would also have seen Giants WRs have to walk over to Eli because they couldn't hear him audible at the line. But I guess it's one of those times when we shouldn't let the actual facts interfere with someone's ability to argue. So seriously, I have to know, how's it feel to be totally douched by Olbermann and Dierdorf in the span of 3 weeks?
Alio is living in a dream world. When Assante Samuel picked off that pass against the Jets in the playoffs last year it was like the running of the bulls the way people were boogying out of that stadium. Anyone that has been there and seen the parking/rte 1 situation would understand.
WTF? I have been there. Numerous times. I know wtf the traffic is like. I still stay until the last second ticks off the clock. And I'm in my seat before the kickoff. So try talking like you actually know wtf you're talking about. I'll have far more respect for you.
You made a point that the 30 or so other teams all have good fans, and here I gave you a situation where the fans were exactly like us. I go to 6 or 7 home games every year and one road game on average. I went to 6 out of the 8 or so playoff games the Jets have played in the last 10 years. (I missed San Diego and the second Oakland game) Now, I can understand you disagreeing with me, but how does that make me not know 'wtf I'm talking about'. I certainly know a lot about attending games. Were you at the Jets Pats playoff game last year? If you weren't, how can you know what took place on the Assante Samuel pick and how can you make a determintion that I don't? Basically, you're just barking at the moon now, dude.
