After 3 weeks and 3 starts I have to say I'm lovin this guy. He's played well above the way a rookie who misses half of TC should. He's had a few penalties, but is proving to be the teams best corner. I've been impressed with his abilty to regain position and the fact his technique is solid. He has been a very pleasant surprise in the first 3 games of the season, especially when you consider our defenses lack of impressive play. with Kerry and Darrelle we have a couple of young players that can emerge into a scary secondary. lets hope he continues to shine and improve his game.
I suppose he isn't playing to bad. Green tested him a lot and usually the receiver caught it or he pass interfered.
yea agree he has played pretty good, now only if qb's stopped throwin at david "i couldn't cover a one-legged midget" barett :breakdance:
And that call against him in the red zone was such a pussy flag by the refs. His hand just grazed the facemask. Other than that, it was perfect pass coverage from him.
Another week of solid performance from Revis and I'm going to officially pounce on that Revis Bandwagon. This kid missed all of camp and got the call in his first start to cover Moss... and most of the time Brady threw at Moss it was Barrett or Miller in coverage on a mismatch. I hate Tom Brady, but I have plenty of respect for his judgment in defensive coverages, so that says a lot to me. The past two weeks have done much to cement that opinion for me.
agree with much of this thread's sentiment. especially the facts that Revis missed a lot of camp, and he's covering very well with absolutely no pass rush. when we get a pass rush, i expect Revis to either (a) rack up some INT's, or (b) see no passes his way. on a side note: we need to beef up on the lines, but i wish we didn't have to spend early picks on them and instead use an early pick on a Safety (Kenny Philips from the U comes to mind). Erik Coleman really has regressed from his rookie year, as he looks slower and isn't taking the best angles on the ball.
Revis has played well. He's been our best corner so far this year after missing most of camp. Today was his worst outing so far but he did not hurt us too much. If he keeps progressing we'll have a top notch corner on our hands in a year or two.
I'm getting to be a big fan of his. He's a solid cover corner who is physical when he needs to be. Reminds me of James Hasty more than anybody else at the moment. He's definitely more physical than Aaron Glenn was albeit not the amazing all-around athlete.
What are you people watching? Revis was awful today. The first two games he was fine. Today he was awful.
amen my brotha, any football fan knows that a good pass rush is a cb's best friend..didnt john abraham have a sack today?
I agree with you Martin; I have quickly become a fan of Revis as he is still likely our top cover guy, but today I wasn't impressed. Our whole secondary looked soft allowing easy completions and yards after the catch. Of course if we had ANY pass rush I'm sure everyone in the secondary would look much improved...At least there was a Vilma sighting today - it wasn't TOTALLY horrible.
Man, you might be the first person that I put on ignore. Not because your posts make me angry, just because as soon as I see your username I know there won't be anything worth reading. Even the total idiots surprise me once in a while. You? Never.
There were a few great passes/great catches while revis had excellent coverage and some of those PI's/illegal contacts were queionable at best.
Nah, he committed them. You could see on replay they were legit calls. However, he's playing far above what he "should", considering he missed all of camp as a rookie. He's definitely got talent. Nice to see a future there at corner.
