Why is it so Difficult for people to get into their seats before Kick off? I mean Is tailgating really that important? Are you an alcoholic? or is there another reason like that you just don't give 2 squats about rooting your team on? Every year it's the same shit. Kickoff comes and the Stadium is @ 65%-70% . I mean really.. Why?
Its the same in alot of sports. I'm going to watch Soccer today , 52000 capacity. I guarentee that that at least 25000 will arrive at the stadium 5 minutes before KO. Drink , birds more drink and food.
I really don't drink much anymore but I still miss most kick-offs. I guess it's just that I lose track of time and I tend to think that I have more time to get into the stadium than I actually do. I don't wear a watch so I have to search to find a clock. Add in that I'm usually talking to my cousin (who's always late) that I really don't see that often... I guess it all boils down to just hanging out and enjoying the day. The game isn't the be all-end all for me. It's the entire experience of just taking it easy, hanging with friends that I don't get to see that often anymore and just talking about good times. To be honest, if it was only about WATCHING the game (instead of all the things that surround it) I'd be at the local bar/restaurant. The weather is always good, the foods is high quality, the beer is cold, and it is a LOT less expensive than going to the stadium.
Personally I think that that there is a Majority of people who want to party as close to kickoff as is possible. So they dont have to spend so much for beer and Hot Dogs. And so many people have the same idea everybody shows up at the gate at the same time slowing up gettin in. Just like rush hour.
The reason is because everyone goes to the same friggin gate. It's Gate D and there are two gates there but everyone goes to one. You should see the line. It's insane. There are hoardes of people trying to get into the stadium by kickoff but they're just standing there drunk and stupid waiting on line for 20 minutes. That's one reason. Another is traffic.
Its the same in every sport i had a season ticket for a soccer team over here for like 8 years, and i cant remember the stadium being seated for kick-off. I guess its a mix of things like trying to get to the stadium, finding a parking spot, getting a drink before.
because people are dumb if you are spending hundres of dollars to see a football game. Get in your ***ing seat 5 mins before kick off. Its not hard if you have a brain. And I've lived in south america all my life, never went to a big soccer game where a significant amount of people were outside the stadium eating. Everyone is in their seat, chanting, getting pumped, before the players are even on the field. Last year I went to my first jet game. I was in my seat 15 mins before kick off.
By the nature of your posts today, I would say that you are currently 'influenced' by some sort of product.
I doubt that its fair to judge all of fans on whether they get to the game late. Some can't help it. But to those who can, get to your seats!!
Beer in parking lot....cheap. Beer in stadium....expensive. They should run drink specials starting at noon and ending at 12:45 or something like that.
people who really want to SEE the game are home. People who want to be outside, drink beers, and eat over-sized sausages are at the stadium
Alio and Koz try going in and coming out over and over again just so they can get pat down again:shit:
I was supposed to go in with a couple of people and then I found out about 11:30 that I had to drive myself in...between the drive and the satellite bus in, I got there a few minutes late. Better than I expected though.
How did the crowd seem? They sounded pretty loud on the radio, but a lot of people are complaining...
