And the Marlins pay for the idiotic decision to pitch to Alou as he hits in his 25th straight game. 3-3.
Well, what does Willie do now? Pedro obviously sucks, but so does everyone in the bullpen. It would be nice if he had a starter out there who could give some innings. Like maybe Humber?
Pedro manages to magically extricate himself with two Ks, but he's up to 55 pitches in only three innings.
Reyes singles in two (and is a moron getting thrown out at second). Thanks to Jacobs, that's Mets 8 unearned runs, Marlins 3 (2 earned).
That's interesting - Beltran goes down hard in deep CF, comes up gingerly, and Willie doesn't move from the bench. Maybe he's pissed about Beltran's fragility? Looks like Beltran is hurt and is coming out.
I really hope Mota pitches one inning. I need the Marlins to score just one more run for my prediction to come true. Mota can help me.
Willie needs to show some fire. If he'd have stuck up for Lo Duca, Anderson and Milledge, maybe he could've prevented a couple of them from getting tossed. We've been victim of some crappy calls at the plate. The manager needs to get his point across, not leave it to the players. That's one thing Willie needs to work on.
The Anderson thing was ridiculous, and Willie should have gotten himself tossed over it. Otherwise, meh - both Lo Duca and Milledge are hotheads, and blow up way out of proportion quite regularly. And absolutely nothing excuses Milledge for being in the dugout and then coming out a second time to get at the umpire. For that alone he deserves whatever suspension he gets.
