After watching the Ravens game i realized that. Pound em with Thomas through out the game and when the defense is wearing down hit em with Leon in the 4th qtr. As mentioned in other threads Leon was not used at all in the last game and i think using him when hes really fresh and everyone else is not will make him even more faster. And dude seriously.....that pass that Clemens threw to JCrap was a fucking 30 yard BULLET...when he settles in the system hes gonna be money...
What made me laugh about that pass was watching Greg Buttle actually make an accurate and insightful comment. He criticized Justin's technique catching the pass. He had his hands positioned as if he were grabbing a lob, not a bullet. There was no way he was going to catch that pass from the instant he put his hands up. I was so pissed off that he dropped it, I didn't even notice his technique. I guess he really did have a brain fart and thought Pennington was throwing the ball to him.
Hell no! Jones has to be used in the 4th, its what he's good at. He's consistent all game, and he beats on tired defenses.
Sorry to de-rail the thread. Very interesting point you guys are bringing up about our wide receivers being in "Chad Pennington mode." McCareins hands on that pass drop were definitely waiting on a lob. Sharp observation. Also, remember that pass Cotch took for fifty yards after the catch? When he caught it, he kinda muscled off Ed Reed, and then immediately braced himself for a big hit from the left side of the field. This is Chad Pennington mode for WR's: "Concentrate on catching the ball and bracing for the hit, because there is no time for anything else." Cotch braced, then glanced to his left and realized "Hey! I can run after the catch! Go-go gadget Rocket Legs!" If he had turned and ran immediately after the reception, it would have definitely been a touchdown. Don't take this a Jericho criticism. Bracing for hits is an absolute necessity when CP is slinging- it's why Cotch holds onto the ball despite being gang tackled. It's a mentality. When KC develops a good rapport with J-Co, however, that'll change. JC will no longer be thinking "brace for the hit." He will only be thinking "Score!" And he will.
actually its been proven that jones is most effective with under 20 carries a game. im frankly getting sick of watching him smash right into the back of our OL. i know theres no run blocking but leon has the footwork and vision to make plays instead of just sprinting into a pile. we'll see.
I'm hoping that were using Jones in the 4th too eat clock and preserve our comfortable lead. I'd rather see him get most of the carries and see Washington used on screens and short passing plays. YAC will be the key too frying the fish I think.
Definately put leon out on the flat but i hate watching Penny throw him screens. He's gotten Leon almost killed a couple time like last years Miami game. Damn i really feel torn now. after watching that baltimore game over over and leaning more toward Clemens. I getting close to the point where i could careless about the outcome of the season and more about seeing Clemens develop so we eventually have legitimate shot. I still have faith in Penny but my patience is wearing thin and im getting sick of the floaters and putting our WR at risk....
FWIW Zach Thomas is out. I kind of get the same feeling though. Penny is a good QB, but it feels like the writing is on the wall. I think I'd rather see him end up somewhere with a legit shot at a title then to finish his career as a middle of the pack QB for a middle of the pack team. Especially since he's not likely to be producing at the same level when the Jets are ready to contend. Hell, watching Clemens was fun too. It's hard to ignore that. If we're not going anywhere this year, then Mangini will have to switch it up.
i havent seen a for sure on that. saw he was having testing done but i didnt hear he would sit out sunday (i would be surprised though if he did considering Goodell was all ape shit about concussions in the begining of the season.) This is Penny's last shot barring an incrediable turn around. He needs to light up Miami and get a win to keep the Clemens pack at bay and to reassure his supporters that he can still get it done. The surrounding team needs to stop talking that they support him and actually do it. D needs to step up and the oline needs to com alive.

Miami Dolphins Head Coach Cam Cameron confirmed both players will miss Sunday's game during his daily post-practice press briefing.
As long as there is pounding and hitting by the Jets I'll be happy. This week provides us a great opportunity to get some confidence back.
The only positive for the Dolphins, the defense, just took a big hit. TJ needs to have a big game this week. No reason the Jets should lose this game.
The Screen pass worked last year and will work again. Remember it was raining and Washington still burned down the field. They have to get this guy more involved; he's not made to catch passes out in the flat and get hammered. T Jones should have a lot more success this time out against the Dolphins
Interesting point about the "lob" hands... Definitely due to Chad's weak arm. I remember Asante Samuel saying something like "The ball just hits your hand differently" after intercepting Chad's pass last year.
