Are you kidding me? It's been two weeks and already the tabloids have taken the Beli-cheat scandal way beyond sensational. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...jets_fan_dolphins_spy_on_gang_green_prac.html
If true, it has served them well. What have they done against the Jets the last 10 years, won 4 of 20 games or something like that?
Jets' fan: Dolphins spy on Gang Green practices -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BY RICH CIMINI DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER Wednesday, September 19th 2007, 4:00 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is there a spy story involving Sunday's Jets-Dolphins game? Possibly. A longtime Jets fan, who regularly attends training-camp practices, is absolutely convinced the Dolphins have been sending a scout/spy to Jets practices for years. That, of course, is against league rules. It's the same guy every year, according to the fan. The suspected spy dresses in a Jets golf shirt and Jets cap, blending into the crowd at the open practice. He sits atop the bleachers with a legal pad, taking detailed notes. One day, our fan friend sat near the spy and noticed he was wearing a Dolphins watch. Hmm. Afterward, the fan followed him out to the parking lot. What he saw next stunned him: When the spy got to his car, he pulled off his Jets shirt and threw it in a trash can, along with the cap. True story. ____________________________________ Next year I bet that jet fan has a camera!
The way the Jets-Dolphins games have gone for both teams over the years definitely makes Spy vs Spy the likely scenario. Sergio Aragones style...
Well i think its obvious that if this is true then they need to get some new Scouts because it obviously is not working.
Maybe the guy was going every year and finally got fed up with the team and said..."Screw the JETS, I am rooting for a winner" Threw away his Jet Clothes and went to Modells and Bought a Peyton Manning Jersey.
Sounds like a BS story to me...the whole bit about the watch and throwing the jersey in the trash sounds like a drunken made up story. Having said that, I have no doubt that every team tries to get "eyes" in on other teams practices in incognito fashion. So what? If I were running a franchise, I would have moles to attend the practices, for sure. That is why there are "open" practices, and "closed" practices. All the scouting in the world does no good if your team doesn't execute anyway.
Well think about this. No one has to spy on our training camp. If someone reads the boards here, they get all the info they need without having to sit out in the hot sun. Yaaar, our boys be too good!
It's written by Cimini...he's one of the least reliable reporters out there. Remember that article that he wrote where he "misinterpreted" what Peter King had written in one of his articles about Rhodes? He's probably the worst beat writer covering the Jets. He even had another article where he actually phoned Kendall in DC asking him about the Jets simulating the snap count against the Ravens. It's quite obvious Cimini is hurting for stories since his main source of info was traded to the Skins.
More like his best source has gone to Kansas City. Maybe Cimini should pack his bags and give Jason Whitlock a call and see if he can get hooked up at the KC Star. After I get done with blasting Peter King on his integrity I read this crap. What a disgrace.... he's writing stories based on what a fan is telling him. He should get fired on that principle alone.
Pasted Cimini article from today's NY Daily News below. My question is which one of you guys is his source? Anyone spending that much time at practices has got to be one of us, no? Jets' fan: Dolphins spy on Gang Green practices -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BY RICH CIMINI DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER Wednesday, September 19th 2007, 4:00 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Print Email Suggest a Story Is there a spy story involving Sunday's Jets-Dolphins game? Haha, that's too much... Yeah Cimini, good call.... The Dolphins send a 'spy' to our camp, and mark him by making him wear a Dolphins watch.... How stupid is this?
