There are 5, 0-2 teams in the AFC currently. Houston is 2-0, but if they perform like they have in franchise history will not finish with a favorable record, and now with the injury to Andre Johnson it looks like they may drop a few games in the immediate future. This actually bodes well for the Jets. 1 or 2 games over .500 could take the wild card. San Diego is behind Denver at the moment, but SD will pick up steam and finish strong and I don't see Denver losing too many games. Jets must win future games against the Central division because this is the division they have the chance of stealing the WC from. ALSO I'd rather start the season with tough games which we lose and build momentum from there rather then going 4-0 then dropping 2 to good teams which hurts the team's confidence and momentum, mid season. I like the Jets' schedule for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully the kinks have been worked out.
I do not think the Jets season is over as several of the "hard" games on paper are now against teams currently 0-2 as well. The end of the shcedule is very favorable. Couple disagreements: Houston: I think that they are very good and will make the playoffs. They have a dominating DL, and look completely different on offense with Schaub. Denver: They are 2-0 with smoke and mirrors and could easily be 0-2. I just do not think they are very good. They could easily melt down. Chargers: Live in San Diego and the Chargers are a very distant second favorite team for me. There is just a weird vibe with the Chargersthis year, likely due to Norv. I am not sure that they will really turn it around that much, but they do play KC twice.
It is only after 2 games. Every Team is in the Mix. After 8 games, then you see who your pretenders and contenders are.
