I ask this because I was in the midst of throwing a birthday party on my house, running in and out to the BBQ.

Did K. Coleman give us another stout performance?

    Was Ellis absent as usual?

    Robertson?

This is not a thread to bash players overall, instead fill me in on what I didn't see.

They sucked. We made Boller look like a competent starting QB

Ellis had a key pressure late and was OK against the run, but still not as effective as you would like to see.

Coleman is stout against the run, but is providing little pass rush still.

D rob was decent against the run, made a few key plays, got pushed off a few times.

The lack of pass rush for the most part continues, that falls on the LB core as well. In the 3-4 they will have at least one LB comming on pass downs, if not two. Bollinger reconized the Blitzers easily and made the right throws.

We were better against the run, but still only OK at best. On the other hand we were playing a banged up Ravens line with a rookie RT and the starting RT playing LT.

We still have not had a sack through 2 games. And the Ravens were missing their best lineman.

The blitzing is not surprising anyone, anymore. Ravens were ready for it with a ton of hot routes, hence ZERO sacks yet again. The CB's are playing too soft when we blitz, so even a half ass QB like Boller can make completions and beat the Blitz. The run defense is not as bad as last years:

    W. McGahee 26 97 3.7 0 9

McGahee worked hard for everything 3.7 is not impressive. We just have to find a way to get to the QB.

No type of pressure.....got a lil better in the second half, 3-4 isn't working with this group.

We had pressure but we were always a second late. Boller was doing a great job with people in his face.

i did witness 4 or 5 unassisted tackles for minimal gains on running plays from Vilma during the game.....i am and have been on the "trade Vilma" wagon but if that continues than we have something here.

maybe that a sign the DL is at least playing competitively.

also gotta admit for the 3-4 to be effective you need that guy to line up and be a pass rush threat....

    B. thomas is NOT that guy, despite the contract extension he received.

OLB should be a top priority in the draft next offseason.....along with DL.

if you watch the ravens d ,pats d,SD D ..ect. there olbs cover ground in a hurry,Suggs, phillips, merriman, colvin get to the qb fast. you can easily see hobson and b thomas are not good 3-4 olbs. there just to slow especially hobson he is the worst blitzer on the team.

This is a very good point. Thomas has really dissapointed me this year so far. Poor pass rush, poor in coverage, below average against the run IMO.

Hobson seems misplced in the 3-4. He I see as more of an inside guy, but not better than any opf the options we have there ATM.

Harris got in and looked good last night. Vilma made some plays, but is still getting blown up by guards when trying to fill his gap.
