Central Florida opens up their new stadium vs. Texas. If they beat UT, it will be as big as Michigan losing to App State! Go Knights!
An upset is possible. Texas hasn't looked like a powerhouse team at all this year. All UCF has to do is keep it close.
lol alot of my friends went there, not much of a college town and it was too close to home (3 hrs). Hadda go with the obvious FSUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
What a gutsy effort today. Although the Knights drop to 1-1, they gave Texas all they had. Almost a perfect way to open the new stadium.
I hate this saying.. but you can definitely make the argument that the better team lost tonight. As upset as i am, this is the perfect way to lose.. We left everything on the field, and showed the nation that this program is gaining strength just like USF. To any longhorn fans here, Congrats, and way to be classy tonight. Can't wait for the trip to texas.
It was absolutely amazing. They spent something like 52 million on it, instead of the 100 million that was suggested. It isn't state of the art, with alot of things, but its better then the Citrus bowl, and it seems to be fairly loud. Were you able to tell if it was loud? Someone told me the announcer said it was one of the loudest games he ever called. McCoy called it a tough environment, and Mack brown said "There was a tremendous atmosphere. I told the kids today I didn't think they understood what they were about to get into" -Mack Brown
Yeah, the game was awesome. I was so proud of our team yesterday. When the jets flew overhead and the stadium was rocking, I had goosebumps. The only thing I was pissed about was the scam they pulled with no water fountains. So, people would buy a bottle of water finish it, then go refill it in the bathroom. The first half was so unbelievably hot. Honestly though, the best moment for me was at the end of the game when the team was walking into the tunnel and everyone was still cheering and chanting for them.
Yea, and then when they RAN OUT of water in the 2nd half.A pparently they looked at the numbers for water sales at the citrus bowl, but didnt take into account that at the CB, they also sold beer. Between tailgating at memory mall, and then that 1st half, i was ready to pass out. Did you see the team walking through the fans as we were exiting? They looked so upset, but you could tell they appreciated all of us cheering for them as they walked through. AND: Kevin Smith leads the nation in YPG... Kevin's at 183 ypg - McFadden is #2 with 173 ypg.
Wow, lot of Central Florida guys here... As everyone said it was just an awesome game - I'm finally getting my voice back today. Some stuff they need to improve at the stadium, but I'll cut them some slack for the first game. My favorite moment was when it started pouring rain - I've never seen a stadium and team come alive like they did. That's a moment I'll never forget. Anyways, bring on Memphis! I'll be there again this week, and as well as we've played we have to look at having a shot at C-USA.
I'm in Jersey but have followed them online, not even a fan. I kept telling my cousin about them in Week I, picking them as an upset alert. As it turns out, UCF can ball as they almost took out Texas, which says a lot about where that school is heading in the future. So much talent in Florida, all you have to do barricade the perimeters.
I think we had something like 20 recruits at the game, a few of them actually Basketball recruits, and early word is each one was EXTREMELY impressed. Its time we steal some 4 star players. We are SERIOUS contenders for the CUSA championship this year if the team stays focused. Israel needs to step his passing game up, I like him alot, he has guts, but i cant deal with 40% completion ratings no matter how good 24k is. Memphis is going to be a tough game, there numbers are inflated from the jax game, but they still are gonna put on a fight.
A new arena and new stadium - the school's definitely going places. I'm not so concerned about Israel's completion % as much as just limiting the turnovers. As long as they keep playing like they have been though it will be a good season.
Your team plays in Conference USA. App State plays in I-AA. They are the only I-AA team to beat a ranked opponent. Not to mention a top 5 team and one of the most storied college football program. A victory by UCF over Texas would be nice but hardly as epic as App State over Michigan. App State over Michigan is one of the greatest upsets in the history of American sports. UCF over Texas would have been one of the best upsets in college football this year but nothing close to the historical implications of App State.
