The punishment is simple.. BB should be forced to spend an evening with #28Martin. He'll never cheat again.

#28Martin is that guy from a few months ago. Remember he was calling himself JetsSomething and posting pro Patriots posts, and then we all said we don't have a problem with you being here but you should change your name to PatsSomething...whatever it was that he was using as a handle. Anyway, same guy. Patriots fan in disguise as a Jets fan.

Wow, you're getting all bent out of shape, and in the end I'm gonna be closer to correct than you are. You said.....Small fine and be done with it. Well, come Friday it's gonna be some combination of loss of draft picks and a suspension, so calm down Pats fan and take your medicine.

A forfeit should be automatic on something like this, it would be in any other level of the sport. This is not the case of a single player cheating it is organizational policy! It is not an either or scenario draft picks AND a forfeit.

Put a big asterisk next to those three Super Bowl wins.

If it's true that the Pats were intercepting Jets radio communications, jamming their communications at key times and also recording and transmitting Jets signals to their defense then I think Goodell should forfeit the game to the Jets and ban Belichik from being associated with any NFL team for life.

The most logical thing would be to give him a suspension. You cant reverse the game, that itself ruins the integrity of the jets season. I think one game is too little and a season is too much. Kick his ass out til week 10

Goodell should come down as hard on the Pats and Bellichick as Stern came down on the Timberwolves (i.e. 4 first round picks).

Bellichick should also be fined and suspended.

Seriously, if Bill Belichik authorized the kind of surveillance and counter-intelligence and out right jamming of signals that is alleged he needs to be banned from the NFL for life. This is a game not a war and you can't do that kind of shit and not affect the integrity of the NFL moving forward.

NFL should ban him for life and force them to hire Rich Kotite to replace him.

If they make the Pats forfeit their 1st round pick doesnt that "reward" the team that picked after them?
1 spot in the first round is a big deal...Hence if the Pats finish with the 7th pick and the Panthers finish with the 8th and the NFL, takes that pick away, the Panthers move up one spot and they were not even involved?
I would like it but I doubt it..Maybe they lose a 3rd and 4th but I doubt their 1st and have trouble even seeing them dock them a 2nd...

If the Pats are forced to forfeit that game that would have huge implications on the playoff race. The Jets would be in a position to actually knock them out of the division race if they can somehow find a way to beat them the next time they meet (assuming they keep their record to at least one game below the Pats).

They will give them a slap on the wrist and thats it. The commisioner is a hard nosed commisioner when it comes to players; he feels they are punks who make too much money , so he will gladly take away their right to earn their livelyhood. But Bill Bellichick and Robert Craft are Iconic figures in the NFL. You heard it here. Nothing will come of this.

By both taking away draft picks and suspending Beleprick for a couple of games without pay.

The loss we received also ruins the integrity of our season does it not?

Honestly, the more I consider this, the more I feel a tie should be awarded to both teams.

There is no way to prove conclusively that this cheating incident caused the Jets to lose and helped the Pats win. Consequently, there is no way to prove whether this definitely did not cause the outcome.

Since it is truly impossible for a determination to be made whether or not the action was the cause of the result, it should be determined that neither team won the game.

This leaves the meeting later in the year as critical if the Jets make a run, and if they don't, it doesn't affect the Pats any more than simply disgracing them, as it should.

This is the most fair I think the situation could play out. As I've said, taking picks away hurts the draft, which hurts hundreds of players, and dozens of teams. (The Jets will not receive those picks as compensation, so we may as well forget that.)
