Fear not the Ravens....

um no, thats because our defense sucks. our defensive players know they suck. there's no pride. we don't have any chip on our shoulder. we will go out and try to improve but thats it.

whatever, we will talk again next week.

 

I never buy that excuse. these guys come out to play every week regardless of what happens the week before. that is just sideline perception and insecurity, as if there are other forces at play when these guys step on the field except their innate drive and desires.

by that logic, had Baltimore won you have to claim that they wouldn't play as hard the week following a win, and you can't honestly believe that to be the case.

even if Baltimore wins there won't be anything to prove that they actually played harder or better because they lost this week.

 

The Ravens have the #1 Jet Killer - Willis McGahee. They may not need Boller's arm to shred our swiss cheese Defense.

 

the best thing the jets could do is dust off a tape of the 2000 jet - raven game and see how the jets racked up all those yards.

I seem to remember vinny throwing alot of ints in that game. So allowing him to throw wild after getting us into the shitter meant tons to yards. Not exactly the best strategy.

 

If the Ravens are pissed, how mad do you think we are. People act like because of one bad game this past weekend that we are some second tier team. We had a bad game, it does not mean we cannot beat good teams.

 

Forget their weakness at qb, they could have Tim Couch back there and it wouldn't matter, they have McGahee. We better stuff that line if we want to win this game.

 

We lost to what probably will be the best offense in the NFL. Ok. Next.

The Ravens defense looked good to me -- the Bengals are a very good offensive team.

We will blitz alot -- and Boller/McNair is no Brady. The blitz bothered them last night.

We can win this one.

 

Ray Lewis has a torn tricep. He admitted so last night. They really banged each other up

The center was the only ravens o lineman starter left at the end of the game. We'll see how this shakes out this week. My guess is that this team might have injured itself irreparably last night (at least for a couple of weeks).

 

IMO. What I took most from the Ravens/Bengals game was:
Carson P. passer rating outside the #'s. You have 2 have a strong armed qb 2 make those throws, but if you do you can beat them that way.

 

c-man youre being a little too optimistic....Did you see the second half of the bengal game? the ravens D shut them doen. If not for all the turnover on offense the ravens probbaly hold cincy to maybe 10-14 points....so, what do you think they are gonna hold us to? this game is a very very bad match-up for us as any game against teams with big physical lines is going to be......0-2 for the Jets is just about a given here

 

Doesn't matter Clemens will be starting....and the oline looks terrible....i don't see how we win this game. But i'll be watching

 

well honestly I think the Bengals bring a few more offensive weapons to the table which might keep a defense a bit more honest in the first place. Admit I didn't watch the whole game, but i did see Palmer scraping himself off the turf quite a bit.

To me...Their defense looked as good as it has been.....they defintely were put in pretty bad positions by their offense in the first half and only gave up 9 points after 3 turnovers in their end.

 

Here we go again with the negative waves. You obviously haven't watched a whole lot of football -- everyone knows that the first few weeks are not an indication of how the season will unfold for many teams, the Jets included.

 

One problem for the Ravens: take a look when they release their injury list at the end of the week. Trust me, this ain't gonna be pretty on sunday, but those guys just through themselves in front of a bus last night on both sides of the ball. they were dropping like flies.

 

I look forward to the day when we dont have to hope an opposing team's players are injured so we can win...

With that said, Lewis and McNair are prob out for next week with Mark Clayton as questionable. Having Lewis out is the biggest piece of good news. Even if he does play it'll be limited and after all, his tricep is torn. This is an easy chance for us to pick up steam heading into the next few weeks where we should have an easy schedule : miami, buffalo, nyg and philly.

 

OK...I agree, but what does that have to do with the Ravens game which kicks of in five days? Our next game is in the "first few weeks" if my math is correct, and I say that we get dusted, again. But perhaps you saw something encouraging in the 38-14 debacle that I'm missing...
