Ok, we got smoked by the Patriots. There's no denying that we have holes in both our lines the size of Texas. If any of you are watching the Bengal/Ravens game tonight, you got a pretty good idea where I'm going here. What we're seeing isn't the Ravens D of days gone by. They certainly are formidable but not unbeatable. This game is winnable but the real question is HOW???? It has to start between the ears folks. The OLine has to find some way to become serviceable or the team might as well NOT SHOW UP!. No if's, and's or buts about that. They have to truly believe they can pass block and run block. I'm not so sure they can do that but its not impossible. Unfortunately, its improbable.... Carlson Palmer is ripping them a new one. For you Chaddites, you have to believe that should Chad play, he can be as good. KC'ers??? Worry not. The Ravens aren't the maneaters they used to be.. We can actually be in this game for 60 minutes IF "Mangenius" prepares the team properly. None of the BS we've seen during the preseason and the first game carryover. We get smoked again and "Chubs" needs to start reading it in the press and hearing it from the fans. My only hope? That we're COMPETITIVE!!!!! Thoughts???
They have turned the ball over 5 times and given Palmer good field position. You can't count on that. At least their offense isn't looking great. Also, is it me or does McNair look like he has a Chad arm tonight?
Their defense will always be GREAT, but the secondary looks a little weak this game. The Ravens offense is always going to be bad, as long as Billick tries to call the plays.
Only problem with this analysis is that the Bengals aren't actually ripping them a new one - they only have about 250 yards of total offense, and they were expected to be a pretty good offense. On the other hand, the Baltimore offense led by Kyle Boller certainly doesn't scare anyone. What a terrible offensive PI call on the Todd Heap TD.
Wow, Boller throws a perfect strike to Heap for the TD and Heap doesn't catch it, leading to an interception. I don't necessarily think that it matters so much, but Baltimore will indeed be VERY pissed next week.
Agreed. The Ravens really didn't play all that well against the Bengals. Their defense is good, no doubt about that. However, their offense isn't all that intimidating, even with McGahee. Although he has been known to kill the Jets, so that still may play a factor on Sunday. After watching the game tonight, I changed my views on the game, and feel we have a good chance of leaving Baltimore with a W.
I thought it was going to be BAL 13, CIN 27. My opinion hasn't changed. The Jets will have their hands full next Sunday. You have to take into account that tonight was a Week 1 divisional rivalry played at night on national TV. It's hard for the road team to win such a game if the teams are of about equal quality. Also, keep in mind that the Bengals beat the Ravens 13-7 in a national TV night game in 2006 and Baltimore made the playoffs last year unlike Cincinnati. In other words, don't let tonight's game change your mind about the Ravens. It's just one game.
Somehow, I dont think the ravens will be bringing in shopping bags from Best Buy to helpguard against the 6-7 man rush.
trust me, i would rather face them after a 40-0 win instead of such a tough loss. they will be hungry and aggressive next week, they HAVE to win the game.
Just like we didnt want to face the patriots after they lost to the colts last year because they were going to be so mad? Thats garbage. Early on, teams come out to play. They werent/arent going to come out less aggressive sunday because they beat cinncy. Are the jets going to come out and be all pumped up because they got killed sunday?
