The evil side of me wants Kellen to stink it up so Penny boy can get some praise before he checks out of NY
who cares what Mike and the Mad dog say except Met and Giant fans. Im not blaming Chad for losing, I simply dont want to hold my breath every time Chad drops back to pass. Its like watching a Doug Brien field goal.
he played very well...i remember we were playing kansas city during his first start...we were winning late in the fourth and then priest holmes had a TD to win the game with less than a minute left ats_suck:
His first game was against KC. Preist Holmes broke a million tackles en route to the game winning TD. MIN next week was his first win.
The bright side of Kellen playing this season is if he sucks, at least we'll be a participant in the Brian Brohm sweepstakes.
Especially if he's the next Tom Brady as so many people here think. Brady came into an 0-2 team in his second year and won the Super Bowl. There are no Mulligans.
Giving up after Week 1? Already hoping for a draft pick? That's ridiculous. Are you aware that most of our best seasons came after losing openers? Some were worse than this one. Grow a set, there's 15 games left.
I was scared of the pats this year, I knew that they would re-tool and really become the force that they showed everyone on sunday. I know as a Jets fan it's in our nature to be pessimistic when things go wrong for us. However, I believe that this is the toughest game we are going to play all year. We were outclassed. Simple and plain. We have a good team and after this game I trust that Mangini will fix the problems associated with our defense and our schemes. The pats were better prepared than we were and it was very obvious. TO THINK that they didnt even have Harrison or Seymour playing is scary. I mean this team is one of the best and most scary teams I have seen since the Cowboys in the early 90's. They are tooled to the teeth with an amazing coach. I have to give credit where credit is due. Francesa was 100% right when he said that the top 3 teams in the NFL are WAY ahead of the rest. Colts, Chargers and the Patriots. I think that the Pats are better than the Colts and Chargers as well.
I'll wait on buying into Mike and Mad Dog. I'm not surprised if the vulture NY media is going to use this to fuel a QB controversy and force the change.
If we win this Sunday, you can bet the media will pour gasoline on it and light it, just like a poster on this board's avatar - he goes by the name of VickBlws. The NY media has the patience of a fickle school girl when it comes to loyalty. Nobody will right about all the good things Chad has done; Clemens will win one game this Sunday (maybe) and he will be anointed as the second coming of Joe Namath. I remember distinctly that when Chad took over he was compared to the legendary Joe Montana in terms of ability. Chad is Chad. Period. He writes his own legacy - I compare him with noone, but I am glad he is here. The man has guts and has overcome a lot of adversity.
I'm sick of this gloom and doom shit. It's 1 game in a 16 game season. This board has sucked over the past 24 hours, and don't even get me started on how the "home" crowd made our whole fanbase look chickenshit. I like this board alot, there's nowhere else in my opinion that offers good fan insight, and valid and fresh opinions like this one. But people are ready to throw in the towel already, and you know what without Chad I think they may be right. Clemens fans you got what you wanted. I hope he gives me a nice shitburger to eat by going in on sunday and going 19 of 29 for 3 td's but good luck against that defense. This team had a better chance to win with Chad, love him or hate him he has the track record of a qb that can win football games. Now he might be gone. And the fact that apparently alot of Jets fans see this as a good thing is a joke.
Has this FO ever been forthcoming with injury information? Chad's probably fine, creating doubt requires the Ravens to look at more KC footage and clog their heads.. $.02
I personally cannot recall anyone here ever saying that Clemens is the next Tom Brady. If they did, it is insane, just as it would be to say that he is the next Peyton Manning or Carson Palmer. What he is is the next Kellen Clemens, and thinking that it could be in the long-term interests of the team to see if he can play is hardly unreasonable.
