I think that Chad has always been underappreciated. BUT --- Mike and the Mad Dog say that (altough unconfirmed by the team) the "early word" is that Chad is out this week and the next "few weeks"

I agreed with them -- you like KC so much -- lets see him against the Raven defense.

    We'll see.

I think that the PATS are so good -- that we are not nearly as bad as we looked. Carl Banks commented today that the Ravens offense is not so creative and will not give the jets as many problems even as a Pats offense without Moss/Welker.

I agree, the Ravens offense is pedestrian at best, but they do have the Jet Killer, McGahee.

The Pats are going to have a monster year if everyone stays healthy.

With KC's 1st start against the "organized chaos" that is the Raven's D, prepare yourself for a loss next sunday. It's just going to happen. If Chad is out for until say week 6. Let this be Clemens' rookie season under center.

I agree on both counts. I think the Jets would have a good chance to win this week after being tuned up by the Pats offense, the Ravens offense will be a welcome relief.

However, I got chills watching Clemens in the 4th quarter. In his two preseasons, he looked great...athletic, throwing the ball with bravado. But yesterday, he again got the yips and threw the ball into the ground twice...yeesh.

Give Tuisasopo some reps this week as well.

If Clemens is playing for more than a week, we better start toting up the 08 draft board....

    LT,RT,OG..

If Clemens has to play, let's hope for some protection since he has no experience. Hard to go by the situations he had to come into yesterday, although I thought he'd at least get some gratuitous garbage time yardage. Bellichick was smart not to call off the dogs and not to let Clemens get a little confidence.

I will give you the one "bright side"

Unlike Herm -- i have total confidence that Mangini will have Clemens ready and a plan to help him succeed. Well see Brad Smith packages and other things to help him out.

There are no Mulligans in the NFL. It's like this--if Chad can't play Clemens is the QB unless he can't play. We have to find a way to win regardless, there's 15 games left.

It'll be an entirely different situation after a week of practice with the 1st team. Mangini should commit to Clemens for this week of practice. They tossed him out there without 1st team receivers. Let him at least build a tiny bit of confidence with Coles and Cotchery...and then baptism by fire.

It certainly looks like it's going to be Clemens for a while, and that means it's very likely that the Jets will lose lots of games. That, in and of itself, wouldn't mean he's not good, it's just usually the way things are in the NFL. Of course Marino, Brady, and Roethlisberger hit the ground running, so it's possible, but it's not too likely.

Not making excuses, but in fairness to Clemens, he was put in a lousy situation. We were down by 3 scores and our running game was nonexistent, so the Pats defense knew they could simply rush the guy. Chad took himself out of the game because of this. He didn't want to risk getting hurt worse.

Clemens looked "confident" in the "pocket". Or maybe he just didnt see all those defenders coming after him. But he did throw 2 to the ground.

Oh well. Bring on the draft picks.

The Jets' track record against physical teams hasnt been good, and nothing they showed yesterday indicated that they will be ready to go at it in the trenches with the Ravens.

    Tui better start warming up.

Chad is a seasoned veteran, he's out of mulligans. This would be Clemens first NFL start against one of the best D's in the league. If you don't see the difference than their's no point trying to explain anything to ya.
