This was what pissed me off the most when i was at teh game. Harris never played!!!!!!!!!!! He was in on literally 3 or 4 defensive plays. The jets run defense was not performing to begin with. The jets traded up to get this guy in the second round. He had an excellent preseason and played ILB in the 3-4 for the top run defense in the country last year. Can anyone make sense of why he didn't play?

idk why he didnt play more, but i saw him on the tube at least 4-5 times, so chances are he played more than 5 plays.

    No,you don't put linebackers as 3-4 ends.

or they could have let thomas move up front... i would have liked my chances with thomas/harris than coleman/thomas.

even tho thomas is too small to play the front.

Aside the fact that they play completely different positions. Coleman had 12 tackles. The next closest person was revis w/ 7. So to answer your question, "NO" he couldn't have replaced Coleman.

well, coleman's job as a bookend is to get to the QB and try to record sacks...

That's the LBs' job in the 3-4.

The 3-4 is an anti-run defense. It's damn near unprecedented to be running a 3-4 and be as bad as the Jets are against the run. Almost impossible really.

personally i will be extremely pissed off if he does not start next week. The play calling was absolutely terrible today and the fact that he didn't play even when the game was over was terrible. Yea he was on special teams but the jets didn't trade up int he second round for a special teams player

The D-Line's primary responsibility is to hold the gaps so the LBs and safeties can make plays on the ball. We were doing pretty much everything wrong on defense but that's usually how it goes when your D-line is that ineffective.

the whole defense was bad today but the front 4 are there to put pressure on the QB... LBs to stop the run and the back 4 to disrupt the passing
