Lets face it, I knew this was going to be a long season and today was just the beginning of it.

    Lets address our problems

    No pass rush
    No run defense
No intermediate passing game or deep ball game
    bad special teams

In other words we don't have a very good team. Look, I root for my team since the early 70s but I have to call it like i see it. Vilma can't play the 3 4 and Chad is a "good" QB who can manage a game for a team with a tremendous defense which we do not have.

For those that trying to rationalize this as just one game you really aren't watching the same game as the rest of us. I myself want to see Clemens in the game. He has more upside, can loosen up the defense and give the running game a boost. Right now CBs are cheating on the line as the know Chad's dink and dunk strategy very well. We won't be able to be the elite teams in this league. And one other note. This is a boring team to watch. Scoring points takes 7 minutes and its excruciating to watch. It usually goes 3 downs for 10, 3 downs for 10, 3 downs for 9 punt.

Mangini needs to make some tough decisions and either dump the 3 4 and or start Clemens

Here we go - If Pennington had an O -line to protect him and a defense to get him the ball (a 108 yd TD return would,'t hurt) this would have been a totally different game. Pennington did his part, the rest...............

Chad was the only bright spot today, you got to see KC against 2nd teamers, u impressed? You think he is ready? QB (depending on x-rays) is the least of the Jets problems.

Another way to think about it - If Pennington was the Pats Qb and Brady the Jets Qb what would have been the final score? 34 - 20 Pats at best.

After today I still cannot believe people think the QB is the problem. To make matters worse, you acknowledge the problems in the first part of your post and then you go right back to "Chad's holding us back" for NO REASON WHATSOEVER. What are you THINKING?

If If If, Defense sucks, special teams sucks, and Pennington since in that pocket like he has all day. Ravens defense will eat him alive and by the end of that game next week we will be 0-2. And I couldn't wait for this season.

That was my point in another thread. For all of the "Chad doesn't have what it takes to win the big one" talk. Do these people think that Brady was the sole reason for the Pats domination?

 I was just going to post the same "if, if, if" thing but you beat me. There is no ifs ands or buts about the 2007 Jets. They are not very good. They will win a few games. 6 at most with this schedule and not the 10 they won last year on that schedule.

    Wait till next year.

If BB could have any Jets Player he wanted to replace any one of his players, I believe his answer would be - NONE. That is the problem!

Dear god, can't the Pennington bashing stop for a little? Defense is going to be a big problem all year, in the d-line, and imo the cb's. I will not however, rule out a good season, there is hope so long as we make it through these first few games intact.

  12. The franchise is a joke.

If you're underthe age of 20, get out while you can.

I agree its not Chads fault that defense blows but...sometimes you need your offense to bail you out. You need to have your QB throw for 300 yards. I will cut Chad slack because of the bad O line but the point I'm making is that franchise QBs have to carry their team sometimes and today was one of them. How many balls did he throw down the field? be honest.

Not a single pass over 15 yards that I can recall. He did get sacked trying a couple of times though.

    To be Honest

    1) you need a running game , By running the ball and setting up 2nd and 2 or 3 to go enable you to take the shots.

    2) you need your receivers to be able to get deep - Hard to do without #1 a running game becuase the D doesnt have to bring up the Dbs

    3) you need time ---- in which we had absolutley none.

dude, yank your head out of the crack of your ass...there is no way you can put ANY blame on chad for this game. chad played well, and did what was possible. he was getting hammered back there, and there was little protection.

if you want to throw stones start chucking them at the defense too...both lines played exceptionally poor. montana could have been under center and done as much.

i want clemens to get in there too...but theres no way you can lay the blame anywhere near chad on this one.

Well, I'm in the 30 and over crowd. I'm going with your advise.

    Receiving REC YDS TD LG
    L. Coles 7 59 2 17
    L. Washington 3 30 0 16
    C. Baker 2 29 0 16

There's 3. How the hell can u throw the ball downfield when you have no time. When will some of you get that if we had Brady, Manning, Palmer, etc behind that O-line and running game it would not mean a damn thing. But make yourself believe what you want.
