The Pass Rush! We couldn't pressure Tom Brady, and he killed us. I don't think the Pats would run the ball, with this pathetic pass rush.
The O-Line! Especially D-Brick! I could get through D-Brick easily. This ain't UVA anymore!
David Barrett! Why is he still on the team?

I said it all along we have no pass rush, And with no pass rush teams with Good QB's are going to pick us apart like Brady.

We didn't have a pass rush last year either and we managed to do pretty well. Brady is just going to kill us every time.

I think we should start with the draft. Why we didn't build upon the OL and get a DT I don't understand this draft at all.

when the qb gets sacked 4 times in a game, and the fans cheer when he's replaced, how can you expect to win anything?

games are won at the line of scrimmage, unfortunately our oline and dline are the weakest parts of this team.

The lines are where NFL competence is determined. Right now the Jets are incompetent on both fronts. That's just what it is.

Baltimore next week will be more of the same, minus Randy Moss. Miami is where we'll see if we can win 8 games this year or not.

Hmmmmm no "D" and no "O-line" were in trouble. Tougher schedule. Hurt RB TJ. Cheers for the backup. OH this is just great.

We are obviously not an elite team like the Patriots are... I can still see 9-7 but we can't hang with the likes of the Pats, Colts, and Chargers until we get some more playmakers on D, Rhodes can't do it all himself

    Everything.
    1. No pass rush
    2. No Run D
    3. Crappy pass coverage
    4. No running game
    5. Chad waiting getting sacked and not throwing the ball
    6. Swiss cheese o-line
    7. Shitty special teams coverage
    8. Retarded calls punting on 4th and 1 twice and in the 4th quarter down 17.

Everything sucked today, there was no positives.

So the PATSIES are 7-0 now in our own house. I hate them. I could care less about other teams in the league. I just want to build a team to CRUSH them. Then have Belichicken retire. Just a dream of mine

And Kenyon Coleman who lead the team w/ 12 total tackles. That's very impressive for a d-lineman.

Well said, we are just not an elite level team, not really close, middle of the pack is more like it. Beef up the Dline and Oline and then we can do some damage.

Brady had all day, every play.. our pass rush, run d, and o-line all need a lot of work. Brick and Miller were both especially depressing, but Pennington, Coles, Cotchery, and Revis were all good.

What went wrong today (9/9/07 Week 1)

It was just a defensive blunder. In the 1st half of this game, the Jets defense did not play all that bad, as they held the New England offense to only 14 points. But literally once they got out of the locker room and onto the field, it went down hill from there. I don't understand why the defense played the way they did today? Some may say the Patriots offense is just too good, some may say that the defense just sucks. I personally don't think our defense sucks.

Randy Moss was not covered well at all today. When you have 3 defenders surrounding him, and he still gets a TD, you know your doing something wrong. Revis was on Moss early on in the game, but that didn't last long. Then Miller was put on him, and that didn't seem to work either. Randy is still a great player. He couldn't show it in Oakland because of his QB. But now that he has a guy like Brady to work with, he can show what he's got, and that's exactly what he did today.

I would say something about "the Cheers", but that's in a different thread.

The game just ended, but I really want to see how the defense plays next week. Mangini and Sutton better give the defensive unit a nice long talk in the locker room and do something differently in practice this week. Going into Baltimore, it's going to be a tough game. I hope to see a big improvement next week against the Ravens.

I didn't mention the offense because I really don't think they did so bad. Chad played very well today, as he led the offense into the end zone early in the game, and then he did it again, this time, playing HURT. The run game could have been better, but I think things will be worked on with the offensive unit in practice this week as well. The o-line needs to step it up as well. You think Chad got sacked this week? Think about what could happen NEXT week against the Ravens D.

eventually that is going to catch up with you. I don't know how you can feel confident with this D just because they survived last year. that just eems like wishful thinking.

Well said, we just do not have the personnel to beat the elite teams. The mere fact we hung tough till the kickoff return shows we are heading in the right direction. Take away the kickoff return the game might have been closer albeit still a Pats win.
