    The plot thickens boys..

The Jets hosted free-agent receiver Reche Caldwell on a visit at their team headquarters today.

The visit comes one day after Caldwell was released by the Patriots.

The Jets have six receivers on the roster: Jerricho Cotchery, Laveranues Coles, Justin McCareins, Brad Smith, Wallace Wright and Chansi Stuckey.

It is possible that they have genuine interest in Caldwell, who led the Patriots with 61 receptions last season. Or they might be more interested in some information he could pass along about how the Patriots are preparing to attack the Jets.

The Pats have lived off of 2nd tier receivers. Releasing this guy and signing malcontents could be the sword in the heart of the "dynasty".

He's a nice player, but would be #4 on the depth chart if we signed him.

Hehe he'll slide him a peice of paper as Westoff holds a gun to his head and instruct him either his brains or the Pats gameplan will be on that paper.:pats_suck:

Sign him then after the game, or if he's decent keep him and cut someone else.

No point in signing him for anything other than information. He's maybe 2% better than Justin McCareins and a 2% difference at your 3rd receiver is not worth spending cap on.

Caldwell and Brian Scottenheimer know each other from SD so Brian has some use for Caldwell.

I actually think we would hold onto him.....In fear of Coles injury prone body.

If Belicheck even had a thought of cutting Reche, he didn't give him an ounce of the game plan

You're right!!! He represents the cornerstone in the edifice that is the New England Patriots organization. If we can crack him, Gillette's walls come a tumblin' down around Belli/Brady...and they cry to their mommies and never wanna play football again. And to think this whole time, all we ever needed was a little Reche.
