Looks like all those ND fans went into hiding! Except for me haha. All you doubters just wait! ND will come back...next year maybe. I was stuck at that Georgia Tech massacre and it was ugly. I've never seen a worse offensive line in my life. Notre Dame is in for a long season, I'm thinking maybe 4 wins this season. Here's to hoping for the best haha

I'm a ND fan, and i acknowledged a long time ago that they won't be very good this year. We lost our start QB, top-2 WRs, our RB, and part of our line.

There will be growing pains this year, but I think that we will be back on top next year or in 2

Your boy Charlie Weis can't win without Willingham's players...neither him or Crennel have had success without Belichick/Willingham helping them out in some way. Now it's time for both of them to put up or shut up.

Losing 12 starters isn't something easy to overcome especially when the back-ups weren't that great to begin with. His QB choice was horrible, does Jones even know how to throw the ball before 3rd down cause this isn't Air Force with the triple option.

'07 is the proverbial throw away year while they'll have a much better team(BCS contending) in '08.

I agree that it's not easy to overcome the losses ND had. I wouldn't say his QB choice was horrible though.

Here's what I think went through Charlie's mind heading into the game...

You've got Jones. A dual threat QB. Probably not the greatest arm but at least he can move.

You've got Sharpley. He's got the most experience (as little as that is) and has a decent arm and a decent head on his shoulders.

Then you've got Clausen. Best arm out of the group, but young and coming off surgery.

To me, right there, Clausen's out of the picture. So do you go with experience or do you go with mobility. I think he knew what he was in for with the offensive line, and he knew he needed a QB that could run for his life. That's what Jones brought to the table. Can Jones throw more than 3 yards? I don't know because of 2 possible reasons: A) The offensive line was the worst I've ever seen and Jones had max 1 second to get rid of the ball. That might give you enough time to just LOOK at one receiver. B) Weis had no confidence in Jones' arm and never called any downfield passing plays. Maybe the problem is that he had a QB with no arm in. Or maybe the problem was the coach and his preparation of the O-line and his playcalling.

Sharpley had the same problems as Jones. Give Sharpley more time, and he's definitely the QB to lead this team at the moment. Jones isn't mentally prepared to start, and Clausen looked solid against backups that weren't pressing the issue when they were already up by 30.

Were the QBs good on Saturday? By no means. But I don't think you can get a true feel for who belongs back there with a line like that. If anything, those are the real dogs of this game. Them and Charlie Weis for putting that poor excuse of a line on the field. I've seriously never seen such a poor display.

Pretty sure one of the biggest reasons for the team's failure this season is Ty Willingham's awful '04 recruiting class, who would be the seniors right now.

Looks like Jimmy Clausen can't guarantee the 4 National Titles he promised.

I've been looking forward to this game since the schedule was out. I can't stand Notre Dame, they're right up on my "do not like" list with Michigan and Ohio State. Last I seen the point spread was Penn State giving up 12.

ND hasn't been on top for years and I hardly think that will change anytime soon. their past 2 BCS games showed that their ranking was overinflated and merely media hype.

ND will be good again, but not "back on top."

kinda surprised that ND lost off the bat. Although i totally forgot that they were starting a new QB. theyll still make a bowl game based on their fan base alone.

don't they have to finish over .500 to be bowl eligible? or is that another rule that doesn't apply to ND?

I was talking to this ND idiot fan that said to me I should be thankful to ND because they're the reason the game on Sat is on national tv

    I hope we cream them.
