i wouldnt say that these players are gonna suck, but the thing that bothers me is that we coulda gotten these guys much later. Does our FO really think these were the best players available when they picked ????? give me a break
Schliegel is a great 2-down player. I've seen Ohio State a lot this year, and we're going to like him a lot. His "ceiling" isn't that high, but the chance that he contributes and is a solid player for us is very high.
am i the only concerned with the fact that smith is such a great hitter/tackler and he is injury prone. thats cant be a combination. how is a he hitter but he isthe one getting hurt. this cant be good
Anyone who thinks they know how good the draft is as of today is fooling themselves. But, at least Borges wasn't pounding it, either. And Borges is a writer from the Boston Globe, so you know that he has no hidden agenda to praise the Jets.
Well, they were probably the highest rated players on their board. I'm not in love with the picks, but if you're really sold on these players, take them and don't risk it. What if someone else "reaches" for one of these players? Obviously the FO sees something.
maybe chatman goes in on 3rd down. he supposably a great athlete and fast that should be useful in coverage.
I knew Bing was a turd. He has now struck out with both the Raiders and 49ers. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=134741&postcount=44
So Schlegel was a bust and Smith is a solid player. 50% return on picks is well above average. The front office liked Schlegel they made a mistake, just be happy Herm is not here anymore.
Yeah...Don't get why people are so pissed about the pick...I mean one bad pick out of 8...I'm take that every draft.
The jury is still out on Brad Smith. Right now, he's still all potential. But Shlegel was definitely a bust. Either way, last year's draft was excellent - there's no question about that. And this year's looks to be excellent as well.
The Smith being talked about here is Eric. He's better than Bing, but not as good as Simpson right now.
