It happens. 5-0 isn't a blowout. When Mussina was a strike from a Perfect game against Boston a few years ago, believe they pinch hit Carl Everett for that at bat. It was a 1-0 game at the time, but still. The game takes precedent.

 

1-0 is alot different then 5-0. There's no way the Royals were winning that game.

 

I agree with you, but you can't fault them for believing that they could. It's not like it was 10-0.

Pretty sure they were trying to break up the no no only, and really didnt have much thoughts of winning.
