August 31st, 2007 Harrison suspended Posted by Albert Breer at 8:19 pm According to a report by ESPN?s Chris Mortensen, Rodney Harrison has been suspended by the NFL for four games after admitting to obtaining Human Growth Hormone. This is the standard first-offense suspension by NFL rules and ? barring an appeal ? would be effective immediately. We?ll have more soon. CORRECTION (8:36 P.M.): We originally had it up there that Harrison tested positive for HGH. That wouldn?t be possible, as the league doesn?t test for it. It?s been corrected. ------ This message probably made Mangini's week.
The Dynasty continues to crumble. No Harrison and maybe no Seymour opening day. Things are breaking down in NE.
Updated: August 31, 2007, 8:46 PM ET Comment Email Print New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison will be suspended by the NFL for four games because he admitted to federal investigators that he obtained Human Growth Hormone, sources have told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Harrison had a hearing with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Friday, the sources said. The Patriots could announce the suspension as early as Saturday. A league spokesman said the NFL had "no comment" about Harrison, who also could not be reached. Efforts to reach the Patriots were unsuccessful. The admission by Harrison has never been made public but his name was among those known to federal and New York state investigators that conducted a two-year investigation into an Internet pharmaceutical distribution ring for steroids and other performance enhancers such as HGH. Investigators have discovered several athletes across many sports whose names were linked in the probe. Sources say at least one NFL assistant also has been questioned. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2999994
Holy Shat... Never saw that one coming.. Very Very disappointed.. I can't even defend him.. I'll never look at him the same way.. Well my fellow gang.. Give it to me.. I'm ready for the raping on this board.. :gpc:
its nice to see a player come clean that quickly...even with evidence against him not that he should be praised or anything, but guys can make a sport look bad dragging out the obvious.......bonds bonds bonds
Not from me. I give you kudos for being a true fan (annoying at times but never the less). Can't speak for the rest of TGG thou.
It's my honest opinion that this will be Harrison's last year. He's been injured way too much to stay productive. But just in case he's good, i'm very glad he's out for our game
This doesn't surprise me one bit. I can't believe more players haven't been caught. These guys are absolute freaks of nature. At least he admitted it. Certainly does throw a wrench in the first 25% of the schedule. Fortunately Pennington's arm isn't strong enough to reach the safety spot in the secondary...
