you're getting their worst three pitchers, so why not a sweep?

We have Hughes going in game one, and i think he's primed up for a very good start.

Kennedy in game 2, who knows what to expect.

Pettitte in game 3, sure win.

they threw kazmir and shields in last two against orioles (kazmir pitching tonight).

those are their only two effective starters.

The Yanks destroyed Shields the last time they faced off...

    10 earned?

Oh no doubt, but the only guy I hate facing is Cashmere...I could care less who the other 2 or 3 are from that staff.

    Agreed.

No better time than now to avoid Kasmir! That's just awesome!

Mariners just lost so we are truly first in the wildcard (meaning the loss column matches)

I thought we're just tied in the loss column now. (But one up in the wild card race, percentage-wise.)

We're tied in the L column, but up 2 in the W column, creating an effective 1 game lead in the race.

Right, that's what I was saying. But we're not - as theChadManCan said - "truly first in the wildcard (meaning the loss column matches)."

Unless I'm misunderstanding what he meant, and he was saying that they match, as in they're equal. When I first read it, I took it to mean matches as in "games."

No, I think (and I'm assuming here,) that he meant that since we're tied in the L column, given that we've got more wins, we're "truly" first for the WC. He just left out the W column part as an assumption that we all already realized that. (I know, I am assuming much here, but that's how I originally read it myself.)

Doesn't really matter though. Either way, it's the first time since I believe April 10, that we've been in a position to be in the playoffs if the season ended today. (We were 4-3 at the last point we'd have made the playoffs. Scary stuff.)

    The Domino effect is active!

Hughes is lookin bad, we are 1 man short in the pen for the next 2 (Today was really a rest day)
With a short outing, this can really put stress on our next few games which could only be fixed with an 8+ outing by a starter.

Now if the Yanks score 6 we may be able to save it and my post will ignite and burn.

Okay, but the L column is the way to judge your "true" position.

Hughes has looked off the past few starts. He just can't seem to find the strike zone, and it doesn't look like they're purposeful misses, where he's nibbling and not getting calls. He's been missing the glove by a lot.

ouch so far.. hughes had one good inning.. the error wasnt his fault, but he didnt bring anything to the mound tonite.. luckily its 4-2 bmore, and 6-2 blue jays right now.. i hope the yanks can make a comeback here, sonnanstine looks good, but their pen is attrocious.. lets see if the yankee bats come alive..

You just can't come back after that sweep and perform like they did last night. Terrible job, I guess we only have 3 reliable starters at this point- our 4 & 5 are getting beat up badly.
