    Torre finally admitted it.

If it were me, I would've let Mussina pitch vs. Tampa Bay and then yanked him.

    Hallelujah!!

That pile of garbage is out of the rotation...Another young arm in an extremely important and pressure situation down the stretch...

I might've waited one more start, just so as to not start Kennedy's clock... but whatever. That's nitpicking. I'm glad to see it. The trinity will be complete.

pffft...I said three weeks ago that's what they should do but the Yankees are always a day late and a dollar short these days. Can't wait until next year when their is a new manager and a young team.

Holy christ, dude.... do you ever have ANYTHING good to say?

Three weeks ago this definitely would've been a hasty (and incorrect) move. You wanted to yank Moose after he made four good starts in a row? Or just after the first one? Come on.

Now, they've deemed it necessary. I'm psyched to see Kennedy, but I'm not psyched about what it means... the Yanks needed to go with a 21 and a 22 year old in their rotation for the stretch run.

Oh, and I'm an idiot. Saturday IS the first. So his clock won't start. That makes waiting til now to make the move even MORE the right thing.

It's a good thing they've got him locked up for another year at 11 plus.

Cashman has done a good job assembling young pitching talent, but this guy throws around cash on bad players like it's nobody's business.

    1. The Yanks can afford it.
    2. Aside from Pavano, I can't think of anyone else.
    3. Moose was - by far - the best option last offseason, and what in his performance last season led anyone to believe he couldn't perform similarly this year? A two-year contract for a pitcher who was well above average last year is a beautiful thing.

ETA: Oh wait... Igawa, too. That was a bad one. But worth the risk, I guess.

I was a fan of Mussina until this year. I really don't blame Cash for locking him up as i thought the 07 results would be better.

Not lately when it concerns the Yankees. Keep a list of all the blown decisions Torre makes between now and 10/1. While you're at it start a list on why Cashman will be out the door right along with him. You can start with a 23 million a year first baseman pinch hitting once a week followed by a 19 million dollar pitcher sitting in the pen and a 51 million dollar pitcher that will never get back out of AAA.

With all due respect sir, may I present to you the decision to not resign Leiber and instead give that money to Jaret F!$#$in Wright. That guy sucked.

Giambi wasn't Cashman's decision. Giambi was all George.

Re: Leiber vs. Wright. I guess. Personally, I would've liked to see them re-sign Leiber, but if you recall, that offseason market was a strange one, and by the time they realized what had happened, Leiber looked like a bargain. Not before, though. And Wright was actually a bargain, considering what others were getting at the time. In the end, Cashman managed to turn Wright into Chris Britton... which I find amazing.

ETA: Who's the $19 million pitcher in the pen?
