It's not that they own us. Look at who we use as pitchers when we play them. Not that these games are important or anything. We must have a 10 game lead by how they are managed.

i really hope moose cant pitch anymore.. i was listenin on the radio for a little bit, and the biggest homers ever in sterling and waldman were sayin how moose has won 3 game in a row before his last rough start, but they added how he never beats a good htitin team.. those 3 wins in a row were kansas city twice and cleveland.. and those teams are offensively inept as of late.. cleveland doesnt score anymore, and kc is ehh.. so they made good points.. i jus hope moose is done.. he is terrible.. im so upset they have him for another year.. maybe they yanks will just release him.. there is no room for him on this team.. henn did another great job..torre bustin out manager of the year moves left and right.. i hope dandy andy can get this team back on track.. and rocket to follow on friday.. these games are huge..

You just have to tip your hat to Garrett Anderson. 2 homers, 2 doubles, and 10 RBI in 6 innings... and he's hit into an out.

FYI, the AL single-game RBI record is 11, by Tony Lazzerri, in 1936.
The NL single-game RBI record is 12, by Jim Bottemley (1924) and Mark Whiten (1993).

before tonight, mussina had been pretty good in his starts in anaheim. but now every good lineup is bashing him around.

anderson first player to have 10 rbi in a game since a-rod in 2005 vs. the Angels

seattle actually lost today.. makes tonites game a huge one.. mike and the mad dog gave the magic numbers for the yankees to be eliminated today.. 35 in the al east.. combos of yankee losses and red sox wins eliminate the yanks in the east.. and 36 in the wild card i believe. seattle wins and yankee losses. so the number didnnt change in the wild card.. hope the yanks can win tonite..

Kick ass man, Russo is unbearable at times alone. A win tonight and we can cut that loss column vs seattle to 3. Hopefully we can get it to at least 3 when they come to the bronx

As long as Torre is in charge of the bullpen we have no chance in hell of getting anywhere.

Moose was a big reason for our making up ground stretch.
He was actually on a nice streak before last night.

    I agree 1000%
I have been uber critical of Torre's butchery in handling the staff.

If Mussina gets bombed his next start, Waldman says they should consider calling up someone like Kennedy to see what he can do.

Seriously, why wait? If they're going to do it anyway, pull the trigger now, and hope that he's the one last spark this team needs. Even if he isn't, we don't lose much.

As has been said, when Moose is good, he's great, but when he's not great, he's atrocious.

It's time to hand the ball firmly over to the youth movement.

Why? Because Mussina hasn't been that bad. 5.2 ERA isn't good, but it seems like he's been giving 6 IP, 2-3 ER a lot lately, which is not bad at all. Besides, I don't think the arbitration clock counts towards September call-ups, which is what I would prefer Kennedy be. Mussina gets his next start, and then his start after that, I believe would be on September 1.

Fair enough. I didn't look at it from the angle of the time he's called up.

I still don't want to see Moose on the mound.

    Ever.

Who would you throw? It's either Farnsworth or Mariano. Mariano hasn't pitched in a few days. He's gonna need work, there's a day off tomorrow. I'd probably pitch Mariano in this spot as well.

like waldman and sterling said.. moose wins vs. inept offenses.. he is awful.. the only mound i wanna see him on is the bullpen mound during the games. buster olney also said on the 6pm sportscenter that the yanks might put moose in the pen and call up igawa again.. who has pitched well in scranto.. or this kid white from double a.. no mention of ian kennedy.. but i would love to see ian kennedy come up.. yanks looked great.. a lose lose with the ninth inning pitching situation.. to be honest i would have liked to see kyle in.. but mo was typical mo as of late.. im glad the yanks won.. torre sux.. sheff isnt playin this weekend which is great. f him that piece of garbage.. lets go yanks this weekend.. 2morrow can be nice if either boston, seattle, or laa lose.. boston has beckett goin.. angels have ervin santana who is bad, and the mariners have weaver goin.. everyone knows how bad he can be at times.. it would be nice to gain ground without having to play a game 2morow..
