Young had 12 passing TDs and 13 ints in 13 game starts. Pennington had 17 Tds - 16 ints in 16 starts. Pennington had about 1200 more yards passings, 13% better completion % and 20 point better rating..
Young had 7 rushing TD's he was simple better than Chad at getting his team into the endzone with a lot less work.
Yes but there isn't any question that Young is a great running Qb but still a very big ? whether he can become a good QB.. He wasn't a good Qb last year.
last time i checked its the qbs job to run the offense and win, two things he did very well. the whole point of a scrambling qb is that he doesnt have to beat you with his arm. so knocking him for not putting up good passing numbers isnt too fair. all you have to do is watch the kid to know hes an amazing player. i do believe however though the loss of travis henry will hit the titans in the mouth. being that in all reality travis henry was vince youngs best weapon last yr.

You realize that he played 3 less games than Pennington right? You realize he threw just as many INTs per game as Pennington too right? I guess his ability to run the ball ( hence the 7 rushing Tds which I dont give a fuck about) should overshadow that hes statistically the most inaccurate QB in the NFL?

Its not the QBs job to win. its the TEAM's job to win. Hence why judging a QB on solely Ws and Ls is stupid and since VY does nothing at the QB position well thats essentially what people are doing. Why is knocking his pathetic passing numbers unfair? Because the Titans won 8 games while he started? Okay, so its unfair to knock Chad Pennington and Rex Grossman because they win games?
You realize that Pennington ass was on the bench for 2 years and he couldn't win the starting job outright his third year? Vince Young is a rookie who was thrown to the wolves and still was more efficient than Pennington in getting his team into the end zone. TN scored more points than the Jets did last year even though as you pointed out Vince didn't start the first few games. In the last 8 games last year TN averaged over 25 points per game the Jets in their last 8 games averaged 19.5 per game. Pennington sucks in getting the team into the end zone. Young is allready better than Pennington.
kinda like when people say we fell within a FG of beating Pitt in the Divisional Playoffs, when in reality Pennington did nothing that game; but he started and played.
What the fuck does Pennington being on the bench 6 years ago have to do with this conversation and comparing the two last year? Get a grip How many defensive scores did the Titans have? How many defensive takeaways led to short fields for Vince Young? I suppose the running game being 5th in the NFL and Travis Henry being an instrumental part of it has nothing to do witht hat either. (BTW I agree with you on the Pennington not being able to lead the Jets into the endzone part) . The Jags game where they scored 24 pts without the benefit of an OFFENSIVE FIRST DOWN, and the Texans game where they scored 20 pts on turnovers was all Vince Young?? Calling a QB who completed 51% of his passes and had a 66 QB rating efficient in any sense of the word is a fucking joke if u ask me.
