Should Jets' take a look at him at ILB ? Would he provide some clout at ILB.

Did you even see why he was cut?

Bad knees, bad camp, contemplated retirement...

  3. He does have the size and smarts to fit in here and would provide depth...

Any idea why he was released?

Don't know why he was released, but he's only 30 yrs old & a bigg time hitter in the mold of Bryan Cox!!! ALso...In a 3-4 defense, he has less ground to cover.

He made alot of tackles last year including 88 solo. Maybe something happened to him in the offseason.

He was nasty in his prime. Do we have room for another ILB?

First of all, we just drafted David Harris so we dont get caught up needing to draft every vet ILB that comes on the market.

Second, I hate it when we jump up and down screaming "we should sign (insert random free agent name here)" the second someone comes on the market. Besides his bad knees and poor camp and attitude we dont need him. Its just that simple. Yes he has 3-4 ILB experience but so does everyone in our ILB corp except David Harris and I think he's gonna pan out to be with Mangold in the best picks of 2000-2010 decade.

So lets calm down on the Trotter talk.

On a side note: I met him on a cruise. He played two of my friends in a 2-2 pickup game and was throwing elbows and calling fouls on a 16 year old kid.

I don't consider the pick a waste, no matter who comes along. You make the pick at the time using the best available intelligence on the players available and have no crystal ball to foresee who else might come along. I find this statement extremely odd.

Well, its an Odd statement or your sarcasm detector is broken. I guessing the second option.

We don't need him. Vilma, Barton, Harris is a good unit at ILB and we have a few depth players. No reason to add an older guy who will want good $$ to sign.

he did win the incline bench press contest during pro-bowl weekend 2-3 years ago we should sign him and have vilma be his back-up

I think you're right. I guess I take too much at face value around here sometimes. Surely he couldn't have meant that.

the offseason doesnt get any better then this...

Typically I would agree Scikitics but give it a read:

If we picked up Trotter he automatically becomes our best run stuffer. Bad knees or not thats how bad weve looked. Do we have room on the roster... no, but can we stop the run...no

I'm with you 227. Seen Harris a lot in college games and really pleased we picked him.

If I was in charge i'd sign him and see if i could get a draft pick for him. maybe a combo package of him and Kendall.

thats Scikotics to you, Mr. Scikotics..jk:lol:

our LBs arent the problem, its the front 3...im willing to bet that all 4 of our starting LBs are better then Trotter at this point, especially for the price tag he will covet
