I'm anxious to see how our 1st team does against the Giants' 1st team. The Giants are a little nicked up now, so I hope they're still a decent guage, but after our performance against the Vikings, we need to have a good game on both sides of the ball. Revis vs Burress ought to be an interesting tuneup for Revis' matchup with Randy Moss on 9/9.
i have always been impressed with the giants oline the last few years and from what i saw against the ravens they held their own...... the giants usually have good talent in the trenches - outside of a few duds they always seem to draft and field good talent on both the off and def lines. their shortcomings over the years has been the skill posiitons (outside of barber, toomer, and shockey), coaching, and special teams.
Do you really think we'll see Revis vs. Burress? I hope so, but don't expect to see it. I'm hoping that they get Clemens a good amt of snaps.
i want to see revis on him at least one series. even if he looks bad or gets beat it will be good experience.
Who knows if Revis will even start on 9/9, but if he can stick with Burress like he was reportedly sticking to Brad Smith yesterday, who knows?
After the Minnesota debacle I'm expecting The Jets to dominate the Giants.Mangini clearly has let the players know how he felt after last Friday's massacre. Look for the defnse to redeem themselves. Chad needs to have a strong game to show people like me that he's able to throw downfield.
Thought this would interest a few: Source: Strahan to return this week Posted: Monday August 20, 2007 07:01AM ET http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/nfl?page=1 Michael Strahan will likely inform the Giants this week that he's returning to play this season and could re-join the team by as early as Saturday, when the Giants play the Jets in a preseason game at Giants Stadium, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. Strahan's agent, Tony Agnone, did say that Strahan -- whose family is urging him to retire, according to an NBC report last night -- knows he needs to inform the Giants sooner rather than later about his plans, particularly if Strahan decides to play. Really looking forward to see how we bounce back from the Vikings game, the 3rd pre season game is alays the most interesting to view. Starters going deep. Want to see Chad runa nice drive with passes over 10 yards. Just looking forward to getting the Jets back on the field.
You think Buress will even play? He's been out a loooong time and he hasn't even practiced yet according to the star ledger. I want to see Revis, and I'm expecting this group to refocus and come out looking to prove it to the Coaching staff that they can play.
Ive got field level seats and won a parking pass on ebay. I bought these tickets the day they went on sale at stubhub and I can't effing wait. Burress may play. Strahan will get benched till regular season as a punishment.
My grandmother can cover Buress. He's a big, slow, posession receiver. He was nothing more in Pitt. He can jump and make acrobatic catches, but that's because he's always covered and he HAS to jump and make acrobatic catches. Buress don't scare me, but Shockey will be fun to watch against our LB's.
I'll trade one of my pre-paid parking passes right now to see Shockey get freight-trained between Harris and Vilma, one high, the other low. If they can make his helmet fly off, that might well be worth 2 passes even.
I`m gonna go the other route. After the Minnesota debacle, I think Brandon Jacobs is gonna carry 3/4ths. of our vanilla run stoppers into the end zone with him. Is there anyone in our LB corps able to stop him? He plowed over Ray Lewis a few times last night. I hope our D can shut him down or he`s gonna trample over everyone into the EZ easily.
