QB- Peyton Manning WR- T.J Houshmandzadech WR- Jerricho Cotchery RB- Thomas Jones TE- Jeremy Shockey W/R- Warrick Dunn BN- Brett Favre BN- Chris Baker BN- Mushin Muhhamed BN- Daunte Culpepper BN- Wes Walker K- Mike Nugent K- Joe Nedney DEF- Chicago Bears DEF- New York Jets DB- Kerry Rhoses DL- Ray Lewis BN- Deangelo Hall BN- Erick Coleman BN- Jonathan Vilma What do you think of my team?
Yes, the offense is bad. Thomas Jones is not good enough to be the lone RB on a fantasy team, no matter how much you like him. And TJ/Cotch is a below average duo at WR as well. Good QB, TE, and team DEF but that's about it. Shitty bench, get rid of Baker, get rid of Culpepper, get rid of Welker. On defense, get rid Coleman
i Had a low firts round pick and everyone was taking the good Rb's so i decided to take Manning and then Jones was the next highest RB when i got my turn round 2. TJ will receive probably over 1,000 yards again and near 10 TD's. Cotch has a chance at 1,000 yards and hopefully in the secound year of the offense more TD's. Will deff be getting rid of Culpepper, if i can find a good backup TE i will drop Baker and Welker well he is meh. I will be dropping coleman as i just signed Rhodes of FA, so coleman will be getting dropped, any idea od a below the radar DB that might of been missed in the draft?
We?re talking about a 12 team league, right? when you had a late 1st rounder (10-12), you should have been able to get one of McGahee, Maroney, Edge, Henry or Ronnie in the second, i have them all higher on my board than T. Jones. On a league, where you only start 2 WRs, Cotch shouldn?t be more than a backup! and Dunn as a a Flex is horrible (i don?t think he?ll get more than 100 carries this year, norwood is the man in Atl). By the way who did you pick in the 4th and 5th? 1st: Manning, 2nd: T.Jones, 3rd: Housh. But everyone else on that roster shouldn?t go before the 6th or 7th round! Where did those picks go? Did you go for Defense players that early?!? Overall, very poor team, sry.
Dont apologise thats why im here, i want to do well in this league. Yes this is a 12 team league by the way. Ok so you think i should try and make a trade with Cotch and someone else to try and upgrade the receiver? I cant remember exactly who was available at the time but i think im going to stay with Jones I think i went with Shockey 4th and Cotch 5th and then went to the DEF with the 6th pick
shockey in the 4th, coth in the 5th and D in the 6th are all reaches of about 2 rounds, that brake your neck, after you first 3 picks, weren?t exactly great, too. If i would have that team i?d try to get rid of Manning and get another 1st or early 2nd round RB like Rudi, Wessy, Henry, McGahee, Maroney or Ronnie. Your team would definitly be better with Farve as QB and another good RB and Jones in the Flex. another posible trade would be Cotch/Housh+Lewis/rhodes to upgrade your WRs. But you have to be lucky to find a trade partner.
you?re welcome, feel free to ask us about your opinon on the trade you worked out before finishing it, if you?re not sure about it.
I found a team whos DL's were appaling so offered Cotch/Lewis for Terrel Owens Its a long shot but you never know
this guy would be a comepletely idiot to do this trade, but if he?s doing it, you solved one of your problems, Owens/Housh is a very good WR duo!!!
Yer i dont think he will do it but thought there was no harm in trying, you never know what kind of GM he is.
I agree, I'd try to offload Manning for a first round RB and use T Jones in the flex. I disagree with you that Bears defense is a reach in the 6th. Statisticaly they have put up more points over the past two seasons than any WR in the league, so they theoretically could be a second round pick. But to each his own, it's really just a matter of how much you value positional players
value is not how many points does my player/defense get, it?s how much more do they get me than the player/defense i can get in the next round. i would never take a D before the mid/late 7th
If a defense like Chicago, that is almost garuanteed to get over 200 points is available, and a reciever who at best is looking at about 140 points, to me the value lies in the defense. Since no other player in the draft is going to even come close to that number, it doesn't matter what position it is.
Depends on the league, but as far as a standard scoring league goes, Chicago has gotten 205+ points each of the last two seasons. The only reciever to top 200 points was Steve Smith two years ago. So statistically, they would be a steal in the second round, let alone the fifth or higher.
i never draft defense or kicker until my last 2 picks... i dont even draft a D player...especially in early FF drafts, bc you can hold onto extra skill players until the season starts (injuries/depth chart issues) i've finished 1st in the regular season in both record and gross points 4 out of 5 times i've been in a league...and won 3 titles (including that 5th year).... i've been lucky with defense and D players though...the year orton was the qb i got the bears D with my last pick and added Vilma(the year he had all the tackles) b4 the season and last year i started out with Philly's D from my last pick...and added Jason Taylor b4 the season started...and at the last part of the season picked up miami's D for philly when mcnabb went down drafting chicago or balt may save you from dropping and adding each week, but if you are good at that it pays off....in leagues where most people only hold 1 defense you can even play matchups week by week on who is playing the bad teams i've spent seasons just starting whoever plays the cardinals, saints, lions, raiders, or whoever sucks the most on a weekly basis
