The Pirates were the second-worst scoring team in MLB before this series started, so I don't think it's their peskiness, but rather the Met pitchers' suckiness.

No, Izturis was going to be out either way, because he was way off the bag when Anderson "caught" the ball, and likely would not have made it back to first.

 

And here we go again - man on third, less than two outs, two failures. Even when the Mets are scoring they still can't drive in people from third with less than two outs.
