I'm amazed that no one has said anything about Bert Blyleven.
    A boderline HOF'er, 287 wins, 250 losses.
Played with many bad teams but won 2 world series.
3.31 career ERA 1.198 career whip. 4970 total innings
Some of it is longevity since he played for 22 years but had a 17 win season with the Angels at age 38.

And with that I would also have to add Tommy John.
288 career wins. 3.34 career ERA, 1.283 career whip.

I work with a guy that swears Bert should be in the HOF, when he retired he was 3rd on the all time strike out list behind only Ryan and Carlton. He says if Schilling gets in and Bert doesn't he is going to single handidly assasinate every single writer that votes.

He's got a damn good point, too.

Not to mention that Blyeven's HOF speech would be hilarious.

I see your Gator and raise you a Doctor K, #16 Dwight Eugene Gooden.

Oh sure Guidry had a better career in the long run (Doc was ruined by both a bad arm, and personal demons he is still battling) but I'd put Doc's 84-86 as being better than Guidry's 1978.
